Anyone interested in HQ Amiga Demo recordings from my collection?
category: music [glöplog]
Over the last few years, as of this time, I have recorded around 656 Amiga Demoscene productions directly from WinUAE, both AGA and OCS/ECS, using 50% stereo separation, and encoded as 256Kbps Ogg Vorbis format, which is superior to MP3.
Each recording is like running the prod itself from start to finish, featuring as much of each tune as possible, and the OGG files are named after the prod itself rather than individual tracks. I have also recorded musicdisks as much as I can within my 30-to-35-minute limit, but a lot of the time I feature my favourite tunes, so they may not be to everyone's tastes.
I will post a couple of samples on my Google Drive so you can see what you think, but I think for all of them, I will have to set up a torrent. If another method exists for transferring several gigabytes of data, I'd be interested to know.

Sure! nice! bring on the torrent! :D
I'll set up the torrent tomorrow, and include all my screenshots as well, as that's how I've put the files on my computer and phone: the player can find the screenshot via the OGG, because I've not included any metadata (I don't use it and don't need to). But not every prod has been recorded, at least not yet.
Here's the link to the torrent:

Foebane72: nice initiative!
One question .. did you try out the torrent link yourself? :)

Farfar, I clicked on it and got a "terms and conditions" page, but didn't think any more of it. uTorrent should've given me a link I could use directly. I've not used torrents in years.
Thanks for the correction, Sesse! :)
Link doesnt open.. Where can i get the .torrent file ? :)
If you can't do magnet: links, here
Thanks Sesse :)
although - Sesse, the .torrent behind that link does give an error: "missing of invalid 'info' section in torrent file"
Foebane72: looking at the contents of the file .. seems like a super cool collection!

Does the torrent work despite no info? I thought the info was optional?
well I'm no torrent expert :) It's just producing an error when I try to add this to my torrent client.
I guess it just once again shows that torrents are a pretty lousy way of distributing stuff. It's nice for evading copyright strikes, everything else about it is crap.
When I get back from work, I will upload the decades as zips to the same cloud storage as the two samples in my OP.
https://storage.sesse.net/af-demos-decade-1.zip
https://storage.sesse.net/af-demos-decade-2.zip
https://storage.sesse.net/af-demos-decade-3.zip
https://storage.sesse.net/af-demos-decade-4.zip
I guess I could be moving it somewhere to ftp.gathering.org (same as ftp.no.scene.org) or something if people would like it to be more discoverable. Will stay for a couple of weeks, at least.

Thanks a lot for the sharing! Demoscene vibes at its best!
Caring is in this case definately sharing! thanks! :D
Thank you, Sesse, I very much appreciate your hosting my recordings on your storage site, it will definitely reach more people than my poor attempt at setting up a torrent!
Maybe I can remove the torrent from my SSD? That is, if it doesn't work properly. What does everyone think?

Thanks! Great collection.
Nice!
Thanks! <3
Thanks :)
If anyone is interested in Demoscene prods other than Amiga, I could upload my collection of Atari XL, Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum demo recordings, too. Also many Atari ST/E/Falcon prods as well as MS-DOS and Windows, and even throw in a few tracker module recordings, too!
