My condolences. I never met the guy, but seemed like a cool person in general with some awesome releases.
Oh no :(

I have fond memories of mogs TRSAC visits and meeting him at other parties too of course.
Passing away at this age is not fair.

Rest in peace.

I can't even remember when I first met Mog. Because Moods Plateau and TRBL (formerly Kakiarts) are both from East Germany, we often traveled together to parties and hung out together.

On our way to the TRSAC parties we always made stopovers in cities like Lübeck or Hamburg and I remember these trips as really funny and happy times.

In 2016 he moved to Leipzig (my hometown) and we often met with the Leipzig Blender 3D community. You can see a small snippet at the end of this video.

I also got to know Benjam (cheers mate) through him, who also lives in Leipzig. Mog connected us.

It was also Mog who established contact with Dojoe and that's how I joined the Meteoriks organization crew.

I wish he had never gotten that f*#%ing cancer and we could have just carried on like we used to. We miss you, Mog.

This was quite a shock when I read about it this morning; didn't know much about his health due to me being less active during since the pandemic started.
Mog was one of the core people I loved hanging around with at parties, chatting on IRC and was really looking forward to meet him in real life again. One of the very few persons I felt comfortable hugging; someone who made me feel like I finally "arrived" in the scene even though I had been active for a few years before. He contributed to the prod that was the very first actual group release I contributed to as well and member of 2 groups that were basically my main scene activity, having lots and lots of fun for over a decade.
Without mog, I wouldn't know shit about design principles, colours and palettes, wouldn't possibly have "jumped over my shadow" to use non-coder-colours or not the same colours over and over again, especially not using one of my then least favourite colour orange.
I probably wouldn't have jumped into UX stuff without that happening and I don't know if he even knew how much positive things in my life are thanks to him.
I'm wearing an orange shirt today. Still too shocked to cry a tear but i feel that will be happening later today.
Farewell mog, i'll miss you a lot. Thanks for everything. See you at the eternal demoparty at some point. <3

I didn't know mog but it's always sad to read about a scener who has gone to the flip side. RIP man. :(

How terrible. I've always admired his taste and style. Meeting him in person was engaging, funny and uplifting, each and every time.

Received the sad news through inner-crew grape wine a couple of days ago, and the last couple of days were checkered with frequent day-dream memory episodes of all the smaller and bigger scene adventures we had with dear Mog; d!rt!e already gave some nice links to those memorable moments.
Mog and I shared a lot of affection for typography, me being the age-old graffiti veteran, with a bit of almost fatherly affection looking and discussing his typographic design exploits.

A very fond memory is the 2018 demo boot camp TRBL pulled off in some holiday home in the picturesque countryside of the Südharz region. It was a steam pot of creativity and marked the halfway point of a 3 week scene marathon (Deadline - Boot Camp - TRSAC) that year, which resulted ultimately in:
Porter and
20 Years Of Zealotry.
The alternative name "Gut und Günstig" for dq's side projects was born there as well as Benjam's internal monicker "Parameter Peter".

He was surely one of the top-huggable sceners out there, hell bent for harmony and cheeky cheerful atmosphere, yet also good for proper banter and the typical central-german low-ball silliness that comes with the 5th "Einsiedler" at the Evoke beer tables outside ... which was captured by KeyJ for eternity here

It was one of these moments when Mog cracked some silly dad-joke or something to that extend that left us literally breaking 4th wall while he was gleaming like a 12 y/o brat.
That's how I like to remember our beloved "Gung mit d'r Ladergack" (nevermind, that's thick Ore-Mountain twang).

I'd like to express my sincere condolences and sympathy to Mike's family and loved ones, and I'm comforted that in this dire times he was not alone when crossing over.
Grateful for meeting him at Deadline 2022 one last time I wished he could've stayed a while longer with us, but knowing that sometimes these things are simply not in the cards, I'm very sure, he'll make it through the Duat.

Farewell, Mog, you will be remembered.

Plenty of parties where during my drunken wanderings I'd stumble into mog and have pleasant conversations. This is a devastating blow to the scene, I'm gonna miss the bugger.

GNU mog
Oh no!

What horrible news… :(

RIP Mog. Met him @Revision 2011. I'll remember a kind and friendly person. Just too young to die. condolences to his family. :'(. They must have a fucking good demogroup out there with all these talented sceners who left us.

mog was a very familiar face among the scene crowds as he's been a frequent visitor of many demoparties and also an avid supporter everywhere, be it at TRSAC, Deadline, Evoke, Revision, Tokyo Demofest and other parties. He was part of the Nordlicht crew in its early years and later joined the Berlin based Deadline team, both as a co-founder and co-main organizer. If he wasn't sipping some beer at a table, hacking away code for his next TRBL release or watching compos in front of the bigscreen, you could spot him taking eye-catching pictures in the hall of sceners doing scene things.

I very vividly remember mog laughing his ass off during one of the mid 2010's animated .gif compos at TRSAC, where the theme was the infamous "AAAAHHHHAHAAAHHHAAAA ..." audio sample.

mog, you'll be dearly missed. Rest in peace.

I don't remember when I met mog for the first time, it must've been somewhen between 2011 and 2013. Our contact intensified when he moved to Berlin and I have sweet memories of driving to parties with him in a car, talking, joking, having fun for hours and listening to drum and bass or happy-hardcore music.
He was one of the founding members of Deadline and also part of the main orga team for a couple of years as Sunspire already mentioned. He shaped the party and with his cool style and attitude and incredible skills as graphics artist defined the look and feel of the party.
I knew that he was fighting with cancer for quite some time already, but really hoped that he will finally win the fight. He was incredibly brave and it's just not fair that he was taken in such a young age. :(
He was increadibly skilled and talented and at the same time very humble - we lost a great artist and person alike.
I was very happy to meet him again at the last Deadline and we spend a good time together. I'm still about to cry when thinking of that this was the last time we met. Rest in peace my friend, I hope to meet you again in front of the bigscreen in after-life.

For me this demo 80 days of Blender is a good place to remember. It really kicked me in very positive way, when it was released at Evoke.
