Your favorite Deadline will return!

We heavy-heartedly had to cancel the party last year due to the pandemic situation. This year looks much better fortunately! It seems that by October, practically everybody who wants to have a vaccination will be vaccinated. Therefore we are pretty certain that we will be able to unite again in person, in the faboulous industrial location of ORWOhaus.

Obviosly we will have a safety concept, depending on the regulations that will be in place in October. This will be finalized in September to bring you the greatest possible but also safe and legal party experience.
Most likely you'll have to pre-register and buy your ticket and be vaccinated (maybe we'll also allow negatively tested, based on effort and safety considerations, tbd).

All details will be announced in due time, but be prepared for:
* high quality bigscreen and sound-system
* new and oldschool competitions (as always from the real HW!)
* great musical acts and DJs
* cozy athmosphere, meeting your friends in person again
* retro-gaming tournament
* seminars and workshops (TBA)
* live stream of the whole event (remote entries allowed)
* no sleeping area this time, but big outdoor area with possibility to camp

Mark the 8th to 10th of October in your calendar and get working on those releases - to be presented in full glory on the bigscreen! :)

OK, here's the deal: We start organizing, you start working on your your release. OK? Yes!

I also have some announcements, while we're still working on the website to be updated:

• Compos: Same compos as in 2019, check the old website. The three-dee compo (anaglyph glasses) will return and also the retro-gaming-championship.
  
• The theme for the themed photo compo will be: United
  
• Did you work on something amazing within the last two years that you want to present as a seminar or workshop to a bigger audience? We have free seminar slots available! Contact us at contact(at)demoparty.berlin
  
• Same goes for shader showdown, we need coders who are up for the challenge, if you want to make it happen! :)
  
• As already hinted towards in the previous post, we will only allow vaccinated people to participate in person. No discussions, with delta variant on the rise, we don't want to take any other risks.
  
• This year we're also not able to provide a sleeping area, but you can camp on the big outside meadows if you want (or book a hotel, or crash at a Berlin scener's place ;)

It's your party, your rules, but is this kind of discrimination even legal in Germany? And what about medical privacy, are you allowed to ask for this kind of information?

Since it's a private event we're free to let people in (or not) as we like. We could also say:" Only people with green hair born on a full moons night allowed." Perfectly legal. Also we're not asking for any medical records, or your medical condition, so nothing medical privacy related.

Again why are we doing this? As party organizer you need to think about which risks you're ready to take and what you want to do to provide a party that is as safe as possible. Being sure that everybody is vaccinated gives us the best chances that nobody will die because they got infected with covid on our party. That means all orgas (and hopefully also the visitors) can sleep well at night, period.

And no, I won't discuss this any further. Just don't come if you don't want to share that info with us, or if you don't want to get vaccinated for whatever reasons. If you can't get vaccinated then it probably would've been a bad idea to go to the party in the first place and again we don't want to take that risk.

I hope that people will boycot the events that discriminate people who refused the covid-deathshot, although I always liked this party and have rather good memories.



Then party in your own small group and do not announce it here, if this is a private event. Here we have plenty of smart people who did not take death-shot.
