Bad ass girlz

This. That sheer lack of human decency, that inability to simply say "Shit, this was not my intention. Sorry if it came out wrong" is appalling.

ok, you guys are implying a lot of things, that are NOT.
Just thought it could be nice to know a bunch of female coders. Interested in shader, computer gfx, not strictly demoscene. Also these examples, could be ok to encourage my nephew to start in a man dominated underground art movement.
language barrier probably mangled the point a bit, but that's still essentially what he said.

Also, I dunno what you are arguing, as you seem to imply to have the same values, but are somehow really mad when called out on it? I don't even know anymore lol.
nah, if i was really mad i would be using allcaps :-)
i was slightly irritated by the fact that you seem to have decided all by yourself who gets to have a say and who doesn't when the fact is, we all do
Only he conveniently forgot about the "sorry" part and instantly went to "you're reading it wrong" instead.
I mean, if you say something and several people go "this was shitty to say" right away, perhaps, just perhaps the problem is with _you_ and not everyone else. But what do I know.

Oh don't get me wrong, you absolutely get to have a say, you don't get to have a deciding say and the way you phrased the things I called out, it seemed you thought you did.
Also tbh, what kb said, and we had already called out the actual intention JaK had, doesn't make the initial post less cringe-worthy tho.
Mistakes were made, things were learned, maybe he should start a new thread about looking for positive role models for his niece she can learn from instead of this awkwardly posted non-thread.

Putting people under general suspicion for using the word "girls" or "boys" is a bit sick in the head. Sorry

Quote:Im certain females in the scene and in general are perfectly capable to fend for them self if they feel like it. No white knights needed.
Since this thread is originally about females being empowered I thought I might chime in with my female scener opinion ONCE AGAIN:
Kicking ass despite the odds being against it costs a lot of energy so I'm personally relieved when we, female sceners, don't have to do it all by ourselves every goddamn time. I could also explain what "whiteknighting" truly is to you (hint: this isn't it) but I shouldn't have to because it's not my job to educate you about how "common sense" works. Also I'm pretty fucking angry right now and thankful for those, who can find some other words other than "Go fuck yourself". Cause that's, honestly, my opinion.
And no, it's not just "hip" to speak about sexist bullshit right now - you're just forced to read it for once because this ain't a demoparty where you can just choose to not listen when we speak for once. Or have you ever asked some of us how we're dealing with the bullshit? Maybe try that next time you visit a "woke demoparty".
This so much this. It's some times nice when someone else decides to stand up for you as it gets quite tiering in the long run. We don't need to defend our self only here but like everywhere. Also for me this topic hits bit too close home so I probably ended up saying something that is not constructive at all.

It's all about context. But you seem to like to take things out of context as you just shown. Go troll somewhere else.
To make it clear: The idea of showing women and girls outside the scene that the scene is more diverse than it looks like, is a good one. I'm not seeing the appeal of "just posting links and making a headcount" without any further explanation, but that's a suggestion for improvement.
You might lack the insight, or empathy, into the reality of being part of a group that has been living the reality of being fetishized for their interests (being "the nerd girl"), getting an inbox full of dicks and being stuck in conversations when the realization hits you that you aren't talked to because you, as a person, seem interesting, but it's rather the idea of you being a person with tits and a common interest that caused the interaction. So maybe it's not entirely up to you to decide what the reaction should or should not be - because you neither seem to be part of the group empathizing with that, nor the group that's actually being talked about.

So why did he continue posting links to people then?

WTF is the context of 3 words? *facepalm*
No demoscene award in her CV....
Anyone got a list of bad ass negroz in the scene? I have a negro nephew and I want to show him that even negroz can be bad ass despite their skin color!
That escalated quickly.

...also the times, they are a-changin, tft! But it's all for the best :)
Who decides that, then?
Bad ass sceners*
*might contain girlz, might contain boiz, might contain non-binary people which might also have a lot of other demo-making-context-unimportant attributes. I don't give a fuck as long as they make demos ;)
Btw. The thread title should have been: "Suggestions for cool female demoscene role modelz for my niece"

The pouet council of language dictatorship of course. We will control your mind through ###illegal thelepathy###
On a more serious note: Proper language is important, because language forms the way you think. Popular examples are that some nordic languages have different words for white and because of that people can distinguish between them or that people in the past couldn't see the colour blue, because there was no word for it

Great thread!
I am aware, that we all are really really tensed - but...would everyone in here reflect a bit and might consider if the proportionality of the reactions might be a "tiny bit" over?
Would maybe a meaningful communication be better? Just asking.
If we always attack someone that wild, - who then immediately goes into a defensive attitude, how should we all get into a productive conversation?
Are we still fair or are we just working on a welcome opportunity?

Humans have animal-like instincts. I fear you can‘t change that. While I agree that we can improve a lot of things between men and women in society, I feel that anybody implying that certain evolutionary aspects that took eons to form could be changed in any humanly-graspable timeframe is just pure hypocricy in my opinion. This is a battle you can‘t win.
lmao, we got biotruths people.. we hit biotruths!! time to close the thread and go home
Yup, okkie has decided. Cool.
lol
so that's why i howl to the full moon... thanks for clearing that up!
Ok, yeah, let‘s just even question the fact people get a hard-on when seeing someone very attractive. Because why not, it‘s all fake news anyway.. There is the only true opinion and that‘s let‘s all hug each other and all is full of love. Because all that is unfair in society can be changed. We only have to believe strongly enough. And raise awareness. And then santa will bring some nice presents, and all will live happily. LMAO.
