Ultrasyd is gone
category: general [glöplog]
By now many of you are already aware of the terrible and unexpected news that hit us earlier today.
Sydney, known under the stage name Ultrasyd, has suddenly passed away this morning. I was not a friend of the family so I can't add any detail.
The following announcement was done this afternoon by a friend of his on Twitter:
The reactions to this news leave no doubt about the kind of person he was, how highly regarded his work was, and how dearly he will be missed. They show the impact he had on the people who had the chance to meet or interact with him. We very much lost someone today.
P.S.: I asked if the family would allow the extended friend circle to attend the funeral, and will let people here know the answer.

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the brutal passing of my friend Sydney, known as Ultrasyd. Syd was not only a talented musicien but the essence of kindness and genuine humanity.
He leaves behind him a beloved wife, Eva, and two young children, Gaël and Emmy, who did not deserve such a tragic news. I'm seeing them soon and will give more infos to the chiptune community, according to the family's wishes.

Sounds like we lost him to a heart attack, if reports are correct.
RIP Ultrasyd - we remember you playing 2 fantastic sets for us at Sillyventure over the years.
