LOL
It's impressive he survived this long.
Very tricky subject for sure. I saw the original article a couple of days ago - and personally was not offended by the demo. Think i saw it a number of years ago now. I haven't seen any evidence to prove or otherwise that Strider / Fairlight was a racist, although I do hope he wasn't seriously into that shit. Rocket Ranger, when that was released back in the day, certainly got some UK tabloid shit because the intro to that game featured Hitler. However in saying this, I doubt that this demo would have got through to being released at, say, Revision, in this day and age, without a seriously good reason. But there again, we have movies such as Downfall, from 2004, which attempted to portray Hitler in a better light.
Having personally met others from Fairlight in recent years, I honestly seriously doubt that they were in any way being racist with this demo.
Food for thought, I guess .......

The scroller says:
"NOW DONT THINK THAT WE ARE MEGA NAZIS JUST BECAUSE OF THE HITLER SPRITE IT JUST HAPPENED THAT I GOT HOLD OF IT AND WAS FORCED TO USE IT SOMEWHERE"
Dunno what it means.

It means edgy 1980s teenagers being edgy teenagers. Move along...

Maybe he felt the same way.
Shitty right-wing - being shitty since 1989 or whenever.
...
I remember running across the nazi demo while archiving and thinking "oh boy the local media over there is going to love this".. Took them longer than I expected tbh
there were rumors of fairlight tshirts with swastikas at the party 93 or 94, if I remember well.
There was quite an interesting article (in finnish) in the latest issue of Skrolli on "the darker side of the demoscene" written by Grendel. Strider got his own little chapter.
that's what I call outreach!

now, what a lame ass justification. you don't just get a hitler sprite and are forced to use it in this way and to release the production at a party.
"Look, I just got hold of this baseball bat, and was forced to use it. Oh, your nose is bleeding, you lame nazi asshole? oopsie. Go and play with your republican friends."
Hooray for glorifying violence. That´s how tolerance and sane responsible behaviour works!
I don't see why anyone wants to condemn someone for something they did 30 years ago when there are perfectly good present day actions they should be condemned for.
Wait, you mean to tell me that Tony "Kill a commie for mommy' Krvaric, who went to the US to become a literal Republican politician is an actual Nazi?????

Yes, like raising two 4chan-esque cryptonazis. They are adult and should answer for their own actions but I wonder where they got those ideas from in the first place.
okkie has leading
What a looser.
And as soon as we're all done firing cheap shots at well deserved targets, let's reflect where that hierarchical/authoritarian vibe in the scene of 90s and parts of the oldschool scene might have come from, shall we?

What Alpha C said.
kb_: Was there more/lots of nazi and racist crap going on in the scene of the 80s to the point of shaping the scene ?
