We need to simply avoid to people coughing within a range of 5 metre.
It’s so simple.. oh, wait..

and every cough cloud of droplets floats there for ~10 minutes, so a few coughing sceners and you run out of safe zone pretty fast :D
;)
Stop panicking, most of us will live.

Our seminar schedule is online and it’s packed!
Wow that's a lot of seminars.
Nice!
I appreciate the vodka medical kit muchly, but most note, pedantically, that 90% ethanol is needed to kill viruses. Most vodka is only 40%.
That said, don't drink 90% ethanol. It tends to bounce. As in, it emerges swiftly back into the world back the way it came in.
Elbow-sneezing and washing your hands properly is for the win.
if you have a vulnerable immune system or other health conditions, do the safe and sane thing and watch over Twitch.

"90% ethanol is needed to kill viruses"
70% solution works best

groepaz: wasn't that for bacteria, where a >=90% concentration would simply suck the water out of the bacteria cells through osmosis while keeping the cell's molecular structure intact (that is, they turn into endospores), so that when the endospore comes into contact with water again, the bacteria cell starts living again. a 70% solution works best against bacteria etc.
Though I guess 70% isn't too bad against viruses either.

Unfortunately, due to the current situation, I actually have to cancel my trip. I am really sad about the situation, but I am looking forward to next year. I will still buy a support ticket because I don't want that the organizers get problems with the costs. Nevertheless, if the event should take place, you should think about Remote Entries this year.
Just don't jump the panic bandwagon. By Easter this will be yesterday's news probably.
One of our team member's countries just added Germany to a "14-day mandatory self-quarantine for returning visitors" list. Unless this is lifted by the end of the month, it means he can't go, and he's the linchpin of our demo. So I'm crossing fingers things will improve in the next month, but it's not looking good for our entry.

exactly, that´s why the major exhibitions got postponed to summer. Hey wait... ;)
But seriously - we don´t know how things are going to develop, we just need patience and gonna see how it´s going to develop.
I totally HOPE that all that FUD being caused by media currently will disintegrate to dust. In 4-6 weeks we gotta know.
will Revision serve Corona beer this year?
us at DSR working hard to finish the demo... so no excuse yet to slip the deadline :D
fingers crossed guys as....

yeah, nothing to worry about. in 4-6 weeks the world will be threated by something else.. flesh-eating zombie seagulls that drank from some Latvian chemical waste spill or whatever :P
<joking> According to this, unless you are above the better half of the 40s, male and smoke alot, there is nothing wo worry about... Umh... ;-)https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/29/health/coronavirus-flu.html </joking>
Anyways, not sure what all the fuzz is about. 08/15-people behaving as if this is the zombie apocalypse.
@Trixter: Thats really sad :-/ but the risk of being forced into quarantine after traveling is really a dealbreaker.

solution: extend revision to last 2 weeks and quarantine all of it
I'll note for some folks I know who work in Europe, they've actually been forbidden to go to the US.
It is darkly interesting to watch rich countries with passports that normally allow great freedom of movement wall themselves off from each other.
Maybe it will help folks from rich countries who jetset around the world at will to better understand the situation of folks who DON'T have those passports.

Maybe it will help folks from rich countries who jetset around the world at will to better understand the situation of folks who DON'T have those passports.
Maybe it would, if folks from less-rich countries didn't have additional things to worry about as a result of this. Speaking as someone with soon-to-be-family in one.
Then again, I'm not up to speed about the rules on how long a thread can get before we're required to start swiping at 'privilege'. Guess I don't get out much on the internet.

I was thinking about adding "Handle: Coronaspreader, Group: Wutan Clan, Country: China" to the visitors list. Probably not a good idea though. But, as long as the plane CPH->LUX is still on, I see no reason why I shouldn't be there to spread dis... ks and vir... al marketing of music and demoscene archives...
