Who's going? There will be a demoscene BoF session this year too I hear. :)

Not as enthused after they culled out all demoscene content from the Electronic Theatre program.

I'm probably going.

I am contemplating going, but that depends on many factors. I've heard that this year demoscene was about to become an official part of SIGGRAPH, but what this means exactly I'm not yet sure.

gargaj: indeed a huge bummer. However, there's still the Demoscene BoF sessions (which I'm helping organize this year).

provod: that's probably Siggraph Asia 2019, which does indeed have its own official demoscene section.

I'm running the Demoscene program at Siggraph Asia this year. This is the first time the demoscene has been an official program.

Just booked my flights, so I'm going for sure!

OK, so it's official now: I'll be doing a talk about Zink at the Khronos' Vulkan BOF at Siggraph this year. If you're in the area, feel free to drop by! You don't need a conference pass for this event.

@gloom @Voltage: Yeah, that was indeed SIGGRAPH Asia. I completely forgot about the "main" SIGGRAPH.

Just looked it up and apparently I could probably afford a one-day pass and fly in and out for just Sunday. One-day pass allows to visit BoF sessions, but not sure about theatre, it is not very clear from the table they provide.

Are there any plans for sceners afterparty? I would love to hang out!

I'd also be up for hanging out in some bar afterwards! I believe the hotel bar at Hotel Figueroa is a pretty common Siggraph watering-hole, and it's pretty close by to the conference. So I'd suggest heading over there after the BoF :)
