In the distance : Gabber

category: residue [glöplog]

Arrived after 5 hours of driving, sit in the car, in the parking lot near the location at night. Alone. Ticket paid for, all dressed up. Upon arrival, a brief moment after the engine stopped, the well known cold creeps up the legs, an unsettling sour feeling of electricity in the stomach and upper body. Head feels heavy, like a thousand tons of atmosphere squeeze it under its weight. It is a cold night in an unknown city, outside, where the rain has stopped just a few minutes ago. Paralysis set on softly like a sudden winters fluffy snow. Let some air in through a tiny slit in the window of the locked car doors. XYZ, who invited you, is somewhere inside, over there at the now unreachable the location. Wait until the pressure faded. 'Til probably 3AM, then just drive all the way back home. Disconnect the internet, turn everything off. Sleep with earplugs. For as long as possible.

In the distance: Gabber.

While you catch your breath to think over your plan to just sit it out, you do not notice how a person approaches your car and knocks at your window.

Finally you manage to wipe your own vomit off the window and instantly you recognize the person who knocked a moment ago- it's Major General Cuthbert Dangly Dong III, Jr. BSc., what an honour!

Sometimes, life can be captured in a haiku. And in the distance: gabber.
