Demos with political topics?
category: general [glöplog]
Asking for a friend (really) - can the pouetbrain come up with some demos that contain political critiques / anarchist themes / anti capitalist messages ... those kinds of things?
I can only think of one or two myself.

Only one or two? Here are some:

You know what? Let's make a list!
the one we made is a., merely just parodying political messages and b., very local so nvm
There's a few explicitly anti-fascist productions out there, all curiously dated at 1993: https://www.pouet.net/search.php?what=fascism&type=prod
The two most notable probably being:
Stop Fascism by Alcatraz & Interactive
Destroy Fascism by Angels & The Frog Buds
Similarly you can also just search other phrases like "capitalism", "communism", "war" etc. that will yield somewhat appropriate obvious results.
Random assortment of less obvious productions that come to my mind:
1999 by PWP (Would brand as satire about totalitarianism but there's many ways to interpret this...)
Conservative Megademo by PWP (Mocking a well known Finnish economic liberal-right politician Björn Wahlroos)
Stop Rokkasho by SQNY (Very loosely, but named after a campaign to shut down a Japanese nuclear reprocessing plant, and the soundtrack is built from material made available in a remix compatition to promote the campaign see more here.)
The Faggot Demo Of Happiness by Queer Conspiracy (The name sort of outlines the point, but a demo about acceptance of "sexual deviance" and pride.)
In general most PWP and Jumalauta productions to some extent, however ironic their intention. Probably more will come to my mind later.

Anger by CyberPunks Unity (Anti-capitalist anti-imperialism, maybe a bit tongue in cheek.)
WWIII by Fairlight (General anti-war subtext.)
When Stereotypes Fail by Paraguay (Criticism of of the gender binary and societal expectations of conforming to it.)

OneReason by alx (quite overlooked demo anyways)
I’ll do a separate list of (pseudo)political Jumalauta demos for you tomorrow. I would guess it’s something between 30 and 100 entries long :)
