p01: hm, here's a question for you - why doesn't your script/greasemonkey remember which users i've listed as attention-whores? each time i restart firefox, i have to re-list those users.

does that just happen to my installation or is it a known error?

gloom: the 2 cookies should expire in 1 year, so I think that if you lost them there's all the chances that you also get logged out of Pouet. What does the cookies look like in the "stored cookies" of Firefox ?

YES. So not really usefull : all protections have their weaknesses as already said.
Morever they act against the "freedom" talk policy of pouet so.

I will read the faq and follow it, that's what is good for pouet.

Well, we block you faster than you create new accounts. If you think you have to annoy users some will probably react even more harsh. Remember the principe of actio and reactio.

Now I have uninstalled the script and I can go to pages again.

That's odd. I had to install it again today. Somehow it removed itself from Firefox.

bent,reid: had to copy paste a couple form tags on the .php, its working with the script now.

When I go to the link where I'm supposed to click on Tools > Install User script, I see the sourcecode instead. Is there a setting in firefox where I can actually run the script instead? Do I need to install something?

the link is the script.. once its showing on the browser, then you go to tools > install user script on the firefox menus..
as previsouly mentionned, you'll need to have greasemonkey plugin installed.

Domenei/Gloom: No clue what is going on with your setups - I have installed this now on osX firefox, Gentoo firefox, and WinyucK2 firefox, all 3 work with no issues about threads. Now, it is POSSIBLE, if you toggle everyone as an attention whore, to make all the threads dissapear. Yes. That's not a bug (:

The major advantage of this filter is that morons will use it intensively and figure out they live in a perfect and polite scene full of intelligent and interesting people while others will continue to come here to mess and spit to their ass while they can't read...

hehe, just installed the script and blocked only 2 users.
result: i'll have to increase the number of bbs threads shown on the index page as currently there are only 4 left.
Makes me reconsider if I really want a pouet without optimus or if that would get just boring, sad and lonely.

maybe i should restrain new bbs topics to one per user per day or something... -_-

One thread should be enough for everyone.

i don't believe a "one thread a day" rule would inspire anyone to write less drivel on these boards.. it might end up elsewhere though. :/
