Interpolate for 60 fps and end this dumb debate.

Stunning argument.

On 24 fps are some exceptions.

A YouTube series on" principles of animation" illustrates the different effect between using 3, 5, 15, or 22 motion tweened frames.

Less tweens in animation just to maki it more of a stepping function, if only out of lazyness, do in fact have different perceptional effects that can be exploited in 2d animation.

But they only work for unrealistic carricatures.

Money tunes roardunner series serves as example for lazier lowfps interpolations to be used for comedy.

Optimus. "lower is better" makes sense if only to avoid the uncanny valley.

Demos are best done in abstract style. The local maximum on the low-detail side of the uncanny valley.

But the valley itself is only subjective while frame rates are only objective.

... only that the "golden rectangle" isn't 3:2 as that article states at the beginning but actually (1+sqrt(5)):2 aka 1.618... which the same article implicitly admits when it talks about the Fibonacci spiral below and aaargh I can't even. :)

And the special aesthetic properties of the golden ratio are mostly just urban legend anyway.

oh yeah, whatever numbers are used to describe composition, you can be almost certain you're not talking with professional/treated as one.

composition is basically having a relationship between parts of your image, and putting main part 'not in the middle' just ends up with more chances of finding such relationship, if you've no idea of what you're doing.
actually, it can be said about everything from the list above - those things are just cooking recipes to try and see what happens.

I also stumbled over the FilmmakerIQ channel on youtube with this video on film montage by Eisenstein.

Bumping this thread for all those that are putting finishing touches on their revision prods right now (or will be soon):

Step back from optimizing effects nobody will notice anyway, read through this thread instead (minus the bullshit parts), adjust the camera in all your shots, be 5x more awesome!

Footnote: the limits imposed by the 4k filesize are't a sufficient excuse to neglect proper camera work either!

I kind of have to agree here. Camera data can be huge in 4k or 8k. It's always going to be a tradeoff.

Good cameras don't necessarily need a lot of data. In fact I've seen way more examples of really bad camerawork in intros that could've been helped just by simplifying them.

How To Camera, Step 1: Decide To Camera.

Nah. Some 4ks with at least decent camera work that come to mind:
Soleu
2nd stage BOSS
Whitespace
Wishful Twisting
cdak

Changing your fov to something that is less than 45 degrees and not pointing the cam straight at 0,0,0 won't take many bytes...

This. Very much this.

Yes, exactly what Gargaj said. I don't get why you don't even want to try and just see for yourself :/

It's a bit late for that now, but if this situation doesn't change, I'll have to force you into a seminar on this topic at revision 2018 :P
