Some of them have been in the demoscene for 20-30 years. Maybe they are just taking a break and focusing on other things in life. They have done enough that they have certainly earned the right to retire if they choose to.

In April 2010, they said their goodbyes, and in December 2010 they all boarded a ship and warped to a distant galaxy. (except for one who was the hapless victim of a vicious cyber attack)
I once picked up they are making a new version of there tool.. once finished some new demo would be logical imho
