Could this be done in real time today?

I'm talking about this video:

At 3:02 , her reflection is on that "blob" thing......!! This video is about 20 years old, could that be done with a live Louise today? Like, someone focuses a camera on her, and the audience gets to see a blob with her reflection on it at home or whatever as she's dancing?

live? holography? augmented reality? the relfection depends on the viewer. so...
for a static camera you could do it... ofc.

live, I mean, like, live on TV, a live broadcast of a Louise concert, say...
flip the video material horizontally, envmap (probably screen instead of spherical to avoid warping) that as a texture onto the sphere with some specular and gloss. easy peasy. the music is appalling though.
errr obviously *vertically :D
No
I'm more concerned that you're watching old Louise music videos!
I'm sure that could have been done realtime back in the 90s, env-mapping was pretty standard back then. The video decoding may have been the tough part back then :D
Yes. http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=61211
