Random "work in progress" shots

drift: yeah I've familiarized with that technique too. Personally I don't really like it though. The blur looks artificial and in particular the transitions and edges have a lot of varying annoying artifacts. Little things like that bother me to no end. The current technique I'm using burns fill rate like a mofo indeed, but it's still reasonably fast at 1080p even on a Radeon 270. There's a lot of room for optimization left too. :)

Ah cool man sounds good, I'm still trying to find a perfect solution myself. Always the problem that the best solutions run slower. I'm considering moving away from raymarching since it scales so badly with screen resolution and leaves little time for post processing.

Anyway enough talking, keep up the good work.

Thanks, I was inspired by tomhk's hybrid rendering(well I was kinda doing that already before) so some of those ideas were used and simiral stuff will be used way lot more. I've also been working on some fluid dynamics so hopefully I'm able to cram fairly realistic graphics and fluid dynamics to one scene, NO PROMISES. I'm planning to visit Revision this year so expected to see some cool stuff but before that we're going to release something smaller.

just idea that popped into my head this week. has anyone combined freezing into fluid stuff?

partial freeze..like writing text(credits etc) to water with freeze..snowflakes to rain sort of stuff..

In liquidiced we did the opposite, we had a frozen-covered spikeball, which then "woke up" and the ice melted.
