Can not find a DL-Link for Kukoo1.
If you are after imitations of oldskool effects on modern hardware, nobody has done it better than Equinox in their Breakpoint 2007 invitation.
The Breakpoint invitation is nice but it does not run on my machine :(

These two run fine on my machine, but there must be other cool stuff for it:

This is a very nice Demo (youtube) but it does not work on my machine :(((
I have Win98SE with the latest DX 9c possible: http://www.falconfly.de/directx.htm
I also tested Win2K with the latest DX9c but it does not work either.
"Blank screen and a reset to Desktop".
I think it's the drivers of the V3-3000. dxdiag shows DDI Version7. It will not be updated to 8x because the latest reference-driver from 3dfx only supports DX7. In Win2k I found an error entry "d3d8" missing etc.
Is it true that the GraphicsCard must support DX81 in Hardware or in Drivers to get this cool demo running?
Thx

Whether this fits the original posters criteria?...

If there were a way to search for prods by comments, I'd say just search for those keywords, Solo2/BITS did a fine job of listing every effect he watched. :)
that's what demozoo is for, phoenix ;)

Yes indeed pretty cool watching on youtube.
What I need is a search engine like "mobygames".
CPU-Class
DX-Version
OS-Version
MIN. CPU
Effectsbrowser

You can be a leading example by adding such tags to productions on Demozoo.

I did some oldschool stuff with opengl in http://sol.gfxile.net/taat2008/
I first got into the Demoscene around December 1990 when I got my Amiga A500, and I think it was the perfect time, as whilst demos until then had looked more-or-less the same, with most groups doing the same type of thing, like with multi-parts, music using stock samples, and endless copper bars, scroller variants and leaner code as the groups outdid each other, as time went on, design started to influence the look of each demo, the music got better, more interesting and new effects were tried, and later on whole new concepts. There seems to be a reason why Enigma, Hardwired and Desert Dream set the standards back then and are famous and iconic. Things got better from there until we end up with only imagination as the limit now.

cool, I think my voodoo3 is only capable of opengl 1.1 ?
The pictures look cool, but they do not work on my DX61 machine.

Thx, they are already on my list. At the moment, I am collecting W9x-Demos with oldskool effects. After that I will check out the dos-prods.
