TRSAC 2015 - 16th - 18th October - Aarhus, Denmark

category: parties [glöplog]
Best trsac facility ever, no doubt....and great ambience, great people, shitty snaps, great organizing. For some reason I managed to miss emoon's second demoshow...maybe due to the other things I mentioned about the party :-D. Sorry for not bringing a prod - won't happen next year.

Ok - a shower, some proper food, a sleep and a day of resting and I'm getting back up to speed :)

I've added results.txt to pouet, and the full archive of releases is currently being uploaded to scene.org

Obligatory longer text about the party will happen later :)

Zeila lugged my camera from Oslo after repairs and service, and thus, there are pictures from me as well.

Yay Sesse, lots of great ones in there! Was awesome to meet you man :)

I just wanna say that the party soundsystem was wonderful - grrrrrreat sound quality and incredible headroom. It was the closest thing to a high end monitoring system I've ever heard out of a PA....

The best thing though was that it was flawless administered in an absolutely expert manner. Really really big props for the soundboard work; do you mix big gigs by any chance?

The new main hall setup was great, though I would have preferred the old (shower room) sleeping facilities, maybe both for the even bigger audience next year :)
The usual absolutely great and silly ambience and people, while the compo quality (especially the exes) was anything but usual!

There are at least a few unintended swaps between groupnames and prodtitles in the results,
just look at Excess and Deluxe & Premium for example:

If that means a correction repost is imminent, I'd love to have Hardcore Vibes correctly credited to TRSI -- my drunken partynetwork ballsup.

numtek: hah - scanning through the results, I didn't pay attention to the order of group- vs. production-name - just checked that they were in there :)

I can fix it up if needed, ...but later... ;)

Thanks all, was a great party as usual :)

Acid compo set with crowd noise

The crowd noise might be a bit too much for some, in that case there's always Scenesat ReLive :)

Sofa So Good: Although I could not attend the party myself this year, I still highly enjoyed watching the stream and when the Fun Animation Compo was on, Kaomau and I were laughing hard. Puryx and all of TRSAC staff are a wonderful team and they know how to put on a great show! And moving the party place into the hall next door was a brilliant idea, too.

I missed the prizegiving so had to wait until the results.txt surfaced and then I was pleasantly surprised! <3 To offer some after-party support, I have now created a final version of my executable track, containing fixes and enhancements, which you can download HERE. I have also included the XRNS project file so you can check it out if you like.

Fingers crossed I can make it to TRSAC'16 :)

So, finally I had some time to rest, and now a long text...

I had a great time at TRSAC although I ended up having way too little schnapps on Saturday/Sunday :)

First of all, I would like to thank all my fellow organizers for taking the chance and moving TRSAC to the bigger hall, when we saw the sign up numbers grow faster than usual this year.
We did great this year - and I'm thanful for that!

However, there would be no need to move to a bigger hall if we do not get a lot of visitors - so thanks to everybody who supported TRSAC by going to our party. You make it worth the effort of setting it all up!
We had over 135 prepaid attendees, and we were 150+ people at TRSAC on saturday.

This year brought the best (executable) compos in a loooooong time at TRSAC, and it was fucking epic to present these compos. Thanks to everybody who participated in all the compos!

Thanks to everybody who helped out the organizing team. People who bring good spirit (hah!), funny items, gags, new attendees, lost Brits. People who spin records, give financial support and much much more.

Personal highlights:
- Finding out that h0ffmann was gonna make it after all, because: Poo-Brain!
- Setting up the party without any major trouble (WTF!?)
- Failing miserably in the quiz on friday
- Seeing people dance their ass off during the Acid compo
- Knowing that the last compoblock, albeit being delayed, was going to kick some major ass!

Downers
- Someone breaking into one of our visitors cars :/
- Too little schnapps for me on Saturday...
- Why is TRSAC not held during a weekend, where we can extend the party with an additional day?

SKÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅL - See you at another demoparty soon - because demopartys are freaking awesome, and you should visit them!

So the precalc time is now... ?

About two minutes on a core i5 machine, which is comparable to my other Clinkster tracks released previously. If memory serves me right, precalc time on an AMD rig is less, but I don't have one here right now to run a test).

The Decay and Sustain sliders are the reason for the long precalc time (in this case used for the long, reverby synth pad), Not using them will greatly reduce sound quality, so for the final .exe I tried to find a compromise between load time and sound output. As a result, precalc time went down from the initial five to two minutes but at the expense of a less detailed / shorther synth pad.

Oh - and thanks to SceneSat of course (yeah Hazel, you!) for braodcasting live to the poor sofasceners.
And thanks for recording all the compos, and putting them on youtube here: Scenesat TRSAC 2015 live stream recordings

I have some cool video shots done with canon60d and I will cut them together to a little party report. If you have some nice shots too please send me your footage using wetransfer.com or similar and I will include it. I saw cheesy taking some video during the quiz for example. Please send your footage to: Thomas.Hansen.Leipzig[atnospamplz]gmx.de Thank you

Thanks to all those who contributed photos to Slengpung, ted, and Harleyman. :)

Since it would be impossible to visit every party, photos are how occasional sofasceners like me live variously though those who went. ;P
With a bit luck I will dig out cheesys video this evening.
