I've heard the page is going to go live at the same day that the PartyMeister 2 Public Release will happen.

we have to wait and see what.."NEXT LEVEL" means for them..
and what level was it before?

..does this new level have end boss?

or just the same level with new colors..and little harder scripting..

what exactly are you looking for? the files are all there, even with a new convenient browser and the news-section was horribly outdated anyway.
whats left are the scene.org awards, those reside at http://awards.scene.org

That's not actually true, the current splash was changed in March 2015. Since then we've been silent, that much is true, but that doesn't mean we're not actively trying to making it happen behind the scenes.

The reason the main site was changed to a splash is because a few years ago during one of the staff meetings I basically made the argument that the then-current scene.org site was poorly maintained not only because there wasn't enough staff to do it but also because it was trying to do too many things as a result of continued feature building which were never really properly separated from each other. I proposed a plan to split the site to three subsites according to what they were doing: the first one became the new SceneID site (shipped last November), the second was the archive (shipped in January and still being tweaked), and the third one is going to be a more comprehensive "about the demoscene" kind of site that is more of a "shiny content" type of site that you can show your mom rather than something you'd actively use yourself, because I think right now we don't really have a site like that.

The main bottleneck in this case is obviously the actual site design (as it is with 90% of the websites in the scene) and I'm slowly applying tremendous amounts of guilt to get it done. On that note, we desperately need more web-capable designers in the scene.

as for the 'shiny content', why not slightly adjust curio and use that? with a bit more background info (i could perhaps even be arsed to help to write some demoscene for outsiders crap) it would suffice!

- how are demos made (also with a 'if you wanna make demos, go for it!'-section)
- what is scene.org
- selection of cool demos over the years (better title needed!)
- available services on scene.org
- other demoscene websites

- donate money to kewlers for mouse pads

i think the most important part is the file archive, anyway, and its accessibility over http. this has massively improved. all the rest is just a bonus.

I understand that for you specifically as a historian and archival-enthusiast the situation is simple - but I think if you have something called "The International Scene Organzation" as a registered entity, you have a bit more responsibility towards what you're supposedly representing. As it stands there are no other presentable central names that can do what we have the potential to do, so I think we should definitely do a good job on being a central entry surface for newcomers, sponsors, researchers, journalists, etc.

Trust me when I say that I'm the most frustrated when things aren't moving forward, but at the same time I'd much rather do something as well as I can rather than do something that loses the initial momentum of interest simply because it's not good enough for people to invest focus in it. Unfortunately for a site where the main purpose is to grab people's attention, this means that it has to look great, you can't just slap a Bootstrap template on it - Wanted was a great example where a minimalistic design worked just fine, because the interest itself was built around the interaction with the site. With a comprehensive site about the scene, there is little-to-no interaction; instead much of the interest is a direct result of the first impression, so it has to have great art direction.

gargaj, i absolutely agree with you! this was not meant to diminish your work on the rest of the site!!! it just pisses me off a bit when other people are like "wtf, why is scene.org going nowhere", while menace, myself and several others are working on making the _archive_ more and more complete on an almost daily basis. of course, i am looking forward just like everyone else to what scene.org will become beyond the archive.
