Originally this view was meant to be an horizontal panning after arriving at the coast, but in the end we dropped it and kept the forward move for the whole first part.
Test with color:
Implementing Gertsner waves:
Easy to write and pretty much worked immediately, yay. Also testing Kawase light streaks.
The noise at the top are the hundreds of seaguls. The background is the storyboard playing, that we replaced little by little with the actual scene.
Coast, balloons:
A grid of trees in the background to test how parameters affect their shape.
HDR:
Defining the post-processing look:
Much better!
Defining the cliff:
Also some love given to the balloons. Colors are completely off.
Defining the sea and hills color:
Not quite there yet.
Adding sky gradient:
Nailed it!
Final look:
