does ZX Spectrum platform needs to be subdivided?
category: general [glöplog]
Alone_Coder, stop using the word 'true'. go read e-zines and calc sold atm boards.
ATM Turbo 2, TURBO2 and TURBO2+ were produced by two firms in the 90's, for several years. There were 8 revisions of the board (well, we know 8 revisions, maybe there were more - for example, we don't know v6.20, while v6.15 and v6.25 were found). So there are thousands of units. At least.
Later NedoPC acquired the rights (in fact, the authors gave them everything and made it public domain) and sold some 300 units. Later zorel started to produce such boards and sold unknown number of them.

please explain your guide how to move prod to ZX Enhanced?
e.g. this one only uses General Sound:
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=61971
this demo maded on the Pentagon with General Sound:
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=62426
Indeed, I see no "enhance". I think AlCo raped your brains.
Sorry.
The difference is because I'm not a mind-reader. I can only update the ones I get told about...
Happy New Year 2014 now moved to ZX Enhanced. (It only gets the one category, because the demo doesn't start on an unexpanded Spectrum. If that gets fixed, it can be in both categories, like In Memoriam V.N.N.)

When non-Spectrum prods, i.e. for TS-Config (this is the only general opinion that is shared even by their authors) will be removed from from this category? This is the matter of trusting you as a Spectrum scener.
I'm not sure what you're asking here. Are you saying that TS-Config is so much "not a Spectrum" that it doesn't even belong in the "ZX Enhanced" category? If so: I don't believe that's the general opinion. If that *is* the general opinion, then people should say so, and maybe we'll reconsider the categories. But we're not going to do that based on a bunch of quotes from before the latest category change.
So, some my demos must be "ZX Enhanced", because one using General Sound. I'll be back xD
gasman, whatever Alone_Coder says, he is speaking from a face of maybe 10 people. His words are not enough to be counted as a general opinion.
Don't take seriously all these logs he always keeps gathering - he has to obtain some sense of humor at last and understand a mockery behind it.
For example, I specially said in z80 that TSConf is not Speccy. I knew he was reading ALL the logs and he will add my little joke into his paranoia logs. And he did it, congratulations Dmitry :)

who think that ts-conf is not a zx enhancement: the recent Synchronization demo uses standart spectrum's tr-dos to load the demo, for example. it IS enhancement for usual pentagon 512k and IS NOT absolutely independent hardware.
all those quotes from logs means that we don't treat ts-conf as usual (original) spectrum, but we definitely treat it as enhanced one.

@Gasman:
In these case my demos won't run on Spectrum 128, because code used pentagon features.
I disagree with way of classification.

ZX Spectrum is this rubber thing, 48K. Word. The rest is Wild.
EvilOne, why not 16K?
i want to thumb up this thread
What groepaz said. You guys are so funny!

A Spectrum enhancement? Chutzpah! It CAN'T be connected to any Spectrum even with a soldering iron. If we don't count connecting one computer (CPU+RAM+Video) to another. This is because TS-Config uses CPU's memory intensively. VERY INTENSIVELY.
Note:
VBI is an interested person and a person known for faking the compo result in his latest demo (and lately he used the name of our group Conscience for his another release).
TS-Labs is an interested person and a person known for constantly naming his config non-Spectrum in private (WITHOUT JOKING!) and at the same time trying to advertize it as a kind of Spectrum.
diver is also an interested person (if he breaks up with the "sect", he won't get enough works for his local party).
I don't say about g0blinish, everybody knows his behaviour.
moroz1999>For example, I specially said in z80 that TSConf is not Speccy. I knew he was reading ALL the logs and he will add my little joke into his paranoia logs.
When arguments end, blaming starts.

can't you all just get a bong.
Alone_Coder, you are also interested person, more than others;) this IS a modern enhancement. like hdd, sd, wifi... get it or gtfo.
HDD or SD (and I suppose Wi-fi) can be connected via a board in a slot, even without any wiring. No relation to TS-Config at all!
AloneCoder why you didn't reject challenge from Hacker VBI? Pussy?
SECT, I LOVE YOU. PLEASE SEND ME MOAR ENTRIES, YEAH!
Alone_Coder, sorry, but it is total nonsense. I'm also can say, that you're interested person in AIR and you specially BREATHING to not let your brain die. Ofcourse I'm interested in demosceners, and i'm doing party and compos only for them, not for anything else.

Bla-bla. What is the point of writing for Spectrum if anything can be named a Spectrum?
Bla-bla, answer my question
Alone_Coder, original speccy does not contain a slot for sd, hdd and other things, they didn't exist in 80th. you will need an external, modern controller. why it isn't possible to do with ts-conf? do you remember that nes' video controller was connected to speccy? it's somehow possible with ts-conf also, and no matter if you will accept it as enhacement or not. don't want to get it? choose the 2nd option.
psb> Alone_Coder, original speccy does not contain a slot for sd, hdd and other things
WHAT? Original Speccy contained an end connector where all of this could be connected if somebody produced it!

@g0blinish:
Which features? If you're using >128K memory (for example), that would count as "ZX Enhanced". If you're just using Pentagon multicolour timings and fast lower memory, those are not enhancements - it still counts as ZX Spectrum.
Basically: I'm trying to avoid a situation where we say "oh, that platform you've been coding on for the last 20 years in Russia, and regarding as a base Spectrum configuration? That's an Enhanced Spectrum now, kthxbye". That's not helpful to anyone.

I'm not against the division (you can cut it down as you want). I'm against mixing Spectrum and non-Spectrum stuff.
