The case for banning temporarily Hardy
category: residue [glöplog]
TRSAC is coming up, I suggest you guys settle it with a demo there.
Okay, let's try to rein in the dumbstorm.
Bans are not handed out as a single-person application; there's no Batsignal on Pouet. Despite the notoriety of Pouet, I still consider it as a place where disagreement should be a natural part of the ecosystem, and I do think (and I've seen many examples of it) that most things can be resolved amicably if both parties are willing to act on it. Now, I understand that his particular situation stems from a contentious issue (the whole RSI vs TRSI hoohah), and I'm probably one of the few people who understand demogroups as "still a thing", and I understand where the sides are coming from. Fact is, I've yet to see hard evidence from either side, so I'd hesitate to be the Solomon in this issue; mind you, Pouet isn't the only one suffering from this, well, "trademark dispute", and from what I can tell Demozoo didn't go through this easy either. So I guess what my bottom line on this particular part of the story would be that as long as both sides are 1) unwilling to yield and 2) in need of evidence to support their claim, this shit is going to go on indefinitely. All I can hope for is that at least one side (preferably the claimant) is gonna make an effort to avoid the mutually assured destruction.
Now, that being said, I'd also like to loudly commiserate with the people who have been having their patience slowly eroded by the behaviour of the two people (mostly Hardy) mentioned in this; I understand that Pouet is generally viewed as a fun little playground but at some point if enough people tell you, you should probably stop peeing into the sand bucket. Yes, most of the people here have already adjusted to it, but some people haven't, and I don't think they should either. I know there's that whole "but he's a nice guy IRL" concept, but I don't see why you should differ in behaviour just because they still haven't invented the device to stab people in the face over TCP/IP - there's already way too much noise-to-signal on Pouet, so why would you want to add to it for any other reason that being deliberately disruptive or worse, insulting? It makes you officially part of the problem the next time you mention Pouet in a negative light.
And to add a double-whammy to the whole thing, if TRSI thinks group image is so important, why can't they rein in their respective members, in a strictly talking-as-a-friend basis?
It's embarrassing. I'd add "grow up" to it but we're talking about people a good 10-15 years older than me and isn't that a depressing thought.

perhaps some could set up a kickstarter? please?
well spoken mr Gargaj
Thank you Gargaj.
It's very embarrassing indeed. I wish these people would stop posting this insane nonsense. Then I would no longer worry that the wrong impression might be made on people who I'm trying to show cool and creative stuff to.
Can we unban solo2/BITS while we're at it? Why was he getting banned in the first place?
+1 for Gargaj
+1 for v3nom
Because first he kept continually adding prods with the wrong info, then when we blocked him off he kept spamming the BBS. He got warned for both several times.
We just need Bill Best and Greg and Kangol Man to clear this all up! Seems easy enough?

I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch the gist of what you were trying to say here.
