Revision 2015 - 3rd to 6th April - Saarbrücken, Germany
category: parties [glöplog]
Hey, is it possible to get the photo wall pictures with me in them? I got the ones from Saturday/Sunday/whatever, but not those that were spontaneously taken (well, all photo wall pictures were spontaneous) on today (Monday). I think there's just a few.
Many oldschool platforms don't even have a horizontal frequency of exactly 15625 Hz. PAL C64 *almost* hits it, but other platforms (NTSC C64, Mega Drive) are like 0.5% off.
@kb: Very interesting exposition; thanks! Did you ever consider using the HD recorder (or other similar not-subject-to-the-whims-of-whatever-Windows-drivers-you-have devices) to do playback as well, instead of MPC?
Thank you that was a w e s o m e !
not sure anymore if partycoding really ruled... X) so tired but so happy
Thanks to all attendees making this party a blast. @XT95 looking forward to battle you again and make up for my sucky performance this year :)
Thank you to everyone and especially the amazing organizers who really seem to achieve miracles. It was a fantastic party and I loved every second of it!
Was quite literally a dream come true for me. Can't give enough love to the organizers. I will never forget the great time I had and the people I met (and the oldskool compo!).
Great party, great sets and great compos \o/
Also: Excellent organizing =)
Extra <3 for this years super cute party theme and how consistent it was carried out. Still miss the crystals on the way to the loo now ;o)
(and I second the photowall pictures request ;)

I have a single complaint...and that's the stuttering video on the bigscreen. This was really painful at times - especially during the oldskool demo compo - and if there's one area you invest in improving for next year I would recommend that one. I'm not sure if the issue lies with the capturing or the playback equipment, but I think both scenarios can be fixed while staying within a very reasonable budget.
I provided the bigscreen video for 8088 MPH (gasman watched me capture it to make sure we weren't cheating), which was 720p@60, and there was no stuttering at all. I suspect the ffmpeg .mov conversion. I provided an MP4 with a reasonable variable bitrate (target 6mbps). I think adjusting the conversions next time will solve it for free.
Whoops, just now read _kb's explanation. Well, there you go.
@kb_: thanks for the detailed explanation! i was sure that something perfidious has happend so you weren't able to fix it over several days ;-)
@trixter: really a pitty that i couldn't find you at Revision :-(

just got home, awesome party as always :)
thanks for a great great party, and my only foreign one since 2013 :) not gonna name any specific highlights since I haven't processed it yet, but I think the fact that everyone was looking so damn happy all the time speaks for itself.
Massive massive shoutout to the organizers for being such fun and well-organized people you provide a frame that in my opinion is unsurpassed - I know many of you had a lot of fun during the party, but rest assured that if you visit TRSAC we will go to bizarre lengths to pay you back in our very own very Danish way <3 <3 <3

Thank you for a great weekend, dear organizers! <3
Thank you for the battlecard, dub. <3 (arrogance and huggability seem to got all mixed up btw ;)
Cheers to lug0 & the h0ff for trying to get me on my knees by raising the tempo bar. You need a different tactic next time. Or i might grab Digimans speedgabba tracks and throw it back at you!! :D No seriously, wicked fun mates! <3 <3 <3
Note to self: don't ever attend a party with 0 productions again.

That show on stage was a production in itself. Experiencing "Larry, Moe & Curly" whipping people through the memorable epochs of modern dance music was priceless ... and bloody exhausting :D
Revision was like
what a great party, judging from streams!
pros:
great compos, big thank you to all participants and orgas!
lq stream worked great and thanks to orgas who made it and scenesat for commentary!
minor cons:
hq stream never worked without skips from this side of iron curtain (
i really missed youtube compos, seminars and compo studio uploads during the party. hopefully they'll all be up soon )
the only thing that irked me in a bad way was judging live shader compo, that has to move to live voting with partymeister at least to be more reliable. i don't know what it felt like in the hall, but over stream it was impossible to tell the difference between votes for kabuto and xt95. live shader has become a wonderful part of the event and should be judged properly in my not so humble opinion.
i also think that showing shaders from the compo as background for streaming/exe music is a good idea.
thank you very much for making such a great event possible, i miss you all and so wished to be there )
see you next easter i hope!

Great party again - so much to process, I'm glad that I took a day off. Big thanks to all involved!
I was delighted to see how many newbies/first-timers we had. I hope you all got infected with the demoscene virus and will come again! Also, there were several prods in the compo from people whose names I didn't recognize. Looks like the scene is not dead yet! \o/
Also great was the vegetarian food stand. I like eating meat, but having more options for inbetween was very nice!
Like Shadow, I was very confused about the Amiga OCS prods appearing in different compos. Something to think about next year, I guess. :-)

Finally arrived and back on track after a shower. What a blasting weekend. Hope to hold up the mood for a new production next year ;)

Yeah, that round was really hard to judge, even with the 5 minute extension. I don't know if live voting on partymeister would work, but we'll definitely try to improve this!
In doubt, they change places and improve the code of the other one ;)
That'd be just 5 minutes of "what the fuck is this guy doing".
need drunken photo wall pics....!
