demoscene @ xplsv.tv
category: general [glöplog]
As some of you already know that at xplsv we launched on october the motiongraphic portal xplsv.tv. This project started early this year 2004 with a winampTV station with some cool selected motiongraphics. After a long time working on it the portal is alredy ready. Basicly the portal is very similar with pouet.net as the basic idea of not hosting the productions but with some visual/layout as the finaluser is more visualstuff.
As we did some years ago with molomucho.com the portal supports the demoscene in some way. In that case when you upload a motiongraphic there is the demoscene category (at some point I will define all the categories and of course I will have to explain basicly what demoscene with links and all that). I won't be the firsts to say that the codefocus of the demoscene was very infected visually since the last years and sometimes the production have nothing very interesting in the code field but is great as motiongraphic, motiondesign. And of course there are always the productions with both fields very fitting fucking good.
So well, this time (more than on molomucho.com) the demoscene have the oportunity to show their work to other people that perhaps will be interested on it (but perhaps you won't care about). So, once again, and with a bit of explanation I want to invite to those who have their productions in a movie format to link them on the portal (at least you won't get comments like "could fit in a 64k" ;).
As the last important note, you should know that in oposite to pouet.net in xplsv.tv only the original creator can upload the piece.
And now, which ones are your thoughts about?

It's a great idea and a cool portal, everybody who loves motion graphics (not only scene, in fact you can love both of them! ;) should take a look on it.
And the winamp tv station is really awesome, I love it and watch a little always I can.
xplsv.tv: a must see, sure!

Wait, what?! Are you suggesting the existence of two scenes or simply the concept of scene and no scene?
*head explodes*
trace, the login system is fucked up. it creates my account and sends out a temporary password that doesn't work (and no, my real password didn't work either).
did you click the activation link first?
yup
true, the login is fucked up, sorry for the inconvenience, there are some bugs on there, we'll fix it asap :S. I'll let you know when that works properly. Thanks!

I was talking about demoscene and motion graphics in the sense of no-realtime... like Art Futura or Imagina festivals.

you know, demoscene in one hand and no-real time motion graphics in the other hand...
I'm afraid last post wasn't sufficiently clear.

I've been really disapointed with xplsv.tv due to its tendancy to play mostly wild prods and 3D animations for popular advertisements.
the winampTV was just streaming good stuff. that's it.
Patrick, make something that we can consider good stuff and maybe it'll be played. Otherwise ...
By the way, we have improved/changed what was not working. So you should be able to login and so on...
trace : this comment would fit in a 128 b :)
good point nytrik!
so, if anybody is interested in the project. the TV started the streaming:
motiongraphicsTV (beta)
motiongraphicsTV (beta)
and 8 months later the TV is ready :U
xplsv.tv: motiongraphicsTV
And once again I would like to encourage the people to submit to the site the demoscene productions in any video format (.mov if possible) there are only 10 productions under the "demoscene" category and I still think xplsv.tv is a very good place to introduce the demoscene to designers outside there.
c'mon guys!
