Jawdropping demos

category: general [glöplog]
What scene productions made your jaw drop when you saw them? Not necessarily your favourites, but the demos that had that "wow!" factor.

The ones that stand out for me are...

Revelations
State of the Art
9 Fingers
Wild
Nexus 7
Captured Dreams
Heaven 7
The Product
The Popular Demo

Planet Risk almost made the list, but the hardware requirements are too high to have that "wow" effect on me.
Let's see... Most of the ones you mentioned... but also:

Enigma
Desert Dream
World of Commodore
Arte
Tint
Crystal Dream II
Second Reality (both PC and C64 versions)
VIP 2
Godog

Probably some more, can't think of them atm.

unreal
Paper: Best wow!-factor ever. Omniscent, Mesha, heaven7 and fr-08 being near.
Last time I saw something really jawdropping was probably Planet Risk.

maturefurk - lapsuus [the amiga one]
potion - planet potion
valhalla - fluid motion [back then really kickass]

and yeah, Statix' Paper r0xx0r :D
Hard question. I have since a long long time to jawdrop. It happened once ago due to design/fast paced presentation with some Amiga demos (Especially with Technological Death). Then, when I first watched the bitmap zoom/distortion effect in the C64 demo Parts by Oxyron (The most impressive effect in an 8bit ever!), later with a part featuring 15 DYCPs in Royal Arte (I am still not sure how is it possible, but I am still not aware of most C64 tricks). Then, huge demo works amaze me, one of the biggest works I have seen must be Numen in Atari800XL. Then, some AtariSt demos are preety big works (code, graphically and musically) like the Sector-One ones. I am not sure about PC, perhaps for their code, Legend by Impact Studios and then Crystal Dreams 2 for how innovative code it had for it's time. I am not sure about modern stuff..
