Error message in Google Chrome

I am using Google Chrome on this PC (Windows 7).
After starting the following error message used to appear once:
When I clicked OK, I was able to use the program in a regular way.
Some time ago this error message started to appear twice. After clicking OK, the error message appeared again, and I had to click OK another time.
Today this error message started to appear not only twice, but six times.
What may be the reason? Does anybody have an idea? (Spyware, Trojan horse etc.?)

Windows 7
Quit Google Chrome.
Open Computer.
Navigate to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\
Delete the file named “Web Data”
Start Google Chrome and the error should be gone.

I have meanwhile discovered that the error messages can be removed by deleting the file "Web Data".
However, perhaps this is only a symptomatic therapy which does not resolve the actual problem.
Does anybody have an idea what is stored in this file "Web Data"? I found a couple of subjects of e-mails inside it, as well as subjects of threads from various forums I am active in (Intelligence.sh, MensaAktiv).

you using chrome adok? doesn't mensa have some own browser and some kinda client tools. you know something with remote control or with intelligence. perhaps it already knows where you wanna surf. ;)
Interestingly, I haven't found any hints from various forums I am active in (LongSchlongSilver.dk, TenInchesAndMore).
