my theory about c.d.volko
category: residue [glöplog]
Eight years later, I now think learning languages has much to do with attitude as well, and not only with cognitive abilities. In our Mensa club here in Austria there are a lot of people who have rather bad language skills, especially bad orthography, but partly also bad grammar - and I am talking about their native language! Their foreign language skills are probably even worse, if they have such skills at all. So it is not possible to say that if you have a high IQ, you are good at languages, and if you have a low IQ, you are bad at languages.
In general I have met a lot of people in Mensa who have a high IQ, but low general education. Probably that is what another pouet.net user was trying to say when he talked about personality and that he is not interested in joining Mensa because the public member profiles he saw were far away from his own personality.
As a side note: Funny enough, if you google my name and keep exploring the links, you will sooner or later come to this thread. Currently it is on page 8 of the search results. So well, I'm prepared that a future potential employer might want to talk to me about what I have written here. :-p

Maybe it's just me, but I could totally see that face photoshopped onto Jabba the Hutt's body.
"Ho ho ho, Mensa Knight."
"Ho ho ho, Mensa Knight."
oh ... you are becoming a bald, poor Adog. :o
Eight years later... You spend too much time thinking your posts, Mr Volko.
A little advice, better keep your potential employers away from this forum. :D

yeah I second ham on the advice. unless you want your employers bully/troll you.
If future employers reach this thread, they'll eventually reach other (=9045) ones as well. Something to worry about indeed.
...oh, and nothing that you write 8 years later undoes what you wrote 8 years before.

Thread 9045 says much more about pouet.net users than it says about me. Readers googling my name who have no relation to the demo scene will probably primarily ask themselves why the hell I waste my time in forums like this one, populated by such rude people.
I also ask myself the same thing
Indeed, that's a good question. In the past I kept visiting pouet.net and other scene related web forums, IRC channels, demo parties etc. because I felt some sort of responsibility for the scene, as I believed that the scene was in need of a diskmag that covered all important events going on in the scene and there was no such diskmag except the one I was making. But you are right if you say that my hard work was hardly honored and it would definitely be better for my mental health as well as the quality of my life if I stopped my scene activities.
As a matter of fact, that's what I've already been planning to do for some time anyway. After Hugi #38, Magic will take over the magazine. I will just remain as an advisor and help him learn how to format texts and assemble them to a diskmag, until one day he will hopefully be able to do it all on his own.
Good bye.

Adok: Why the drama? If you are tired of Hugi and wanna quit, that's fine.
Btw, your own words in that thread don't make any good to your image.

or did tomcat inspire you to join the martyrdom bandwagon? :P
"having actual content is overrated"
ham: I'm aware of that and I am deeply sorry for it. :(
oh well ... don't complain if people start bullying you when you stereotype them and consider yourself a superior being by your so call IQ, nationalism or racism bullshits. these things are so 60s.
To stay on the original topic, this is NOT my theory about Adok:
No, this is the ARTual truth about Adok.
And as all good thing never come alone, here is also the truth about Magic
