so, have we established female rights for demoscene women already or do we need another 100 years of civilization first? most demoscene ladies managed to survive in the previous 100 years with all the 'white male sexism' and 'artistic misuse of their physique', i'm sure they can survive another.

Nothing constructive to add. Will say, 28.6% of my group are lovely girlies. Can't speak for them, but can tell you they go to parties yet not to Pouet.

I caught up with reading Ringo's somewhat-related residue thread about the opposite sex, and was happy surprised to read one of the many comments of Gargaj :

Most interesting to me was you (and maybe others' - didn't read all) addressing the crucial issue of welcoming the next generation of demosceners (most likely inducing a significant increase of women in the community if only for its survival imho) : a theme I see becoming recurrent in the future but not yet discussed formally.
Furthermore on IRC a provocative minority, including myself, would even consider temporarily positive discrimination for women submissions at demoparties when taking into account both the similar efforts observed in the science community lately and the vast catch-up.
Should it be reminded the first coder in human history is believed to be a woman, or recall which wife is really behind the calculus of the first general relativity papers ?
So why shoot ourselves in the foot ?
