i might add, without further interest in an oversized discussion, that, there is a huge difference between
- stealing someone´s work, claiming the authorship plus earning money through that
AND
- removing a copy protection from software, spreading the results for free and thus increasing the popularity of the product (which is proven). plus: people who don´t have money won´t be able to buy a game that has been cracked, anyways. just releasing something doesn´t mean that it is automatically sold.

Plagiarism is a pest, that really deserves no tolerance. No matter who you are.
