Which of these environments do demosceners belong to? I would suspect that some belong to the postmodern environment, whereas others are rather hedonists. All other environments do not really seem to fit.



Postmodern environment: Young, formally often highly educated avantgarde environment with focus in metropolitan areas. Lifestyle trendsetters with radically subjectivist life philosophy: individuals as "engineers" of their personal universes. They are self-confident lifestyle architects who create a lifestyle following their own principles out of their individual "construction kit". They live the (postmodern) freedom of "anything goes" (except the "mainstream taste"), which sometimes makes more traditional people afraid. What's important: identitfy of ego and external world (brands, products), tolerance of contradictions, multiple identities.
