Train tickets in the pocket. Yes!
Have to say I feel the deadline closing in,. argh!
17 days to go, oh oh. A couple of months ago there was way more time left for some odd reason.
@ PotcFd: I hope you'll manage to get there!

We are arriving really early on Thursday. Any of you local Cologne peeps that have any tips of shit we can do before the PreParty starts?
Is there a good place to do some daytime drinking?
"Stuff to see & do when in Cologne" :)
Btw, anyone know if there is a legal/tolerated graffiti wall in Cologne.
That house next to the party place f.i? Is that some anarchists "club house" where you just ask the people who live there if it ok to paint there. Was rather covered with graff last year if I remember correctly.

Now that would be a nice idea for a slowpaced demoparty afternoon :)
Sure would. Also it would keep us from getting too drunk by drinking heavily in the daytime, and not remembering the compos at night ;)
my ex-lady contacted me today, after like 5 years ;)
if you want her to come with me (!!! ;) ) to evoke please say YEAH!
und alle so: YEAH!

Btw, slow/no feedback/info from organizers in this thread. Promote some info people.
Will sales of cold beer improve from last year? The "bar" was closed too much imo.
Will there be a barbecue???
What will happen?
Any acts?
WASS? WASS?

Car and hotel - fixed.
Hi,
if you want to have a really lazy day in Cologne just go to see the cathedral and then take a train to the Zoo. You can there visit the Zoo or go directly by cable car over the river. Buy a few beers in advance and just sit at the river in the Rheinpark. From there you can even take a short walk to the Dingfabrik where the PreParty will be held. Or you skip the trip to the Zoo and just get some food and something to drink in one of the plenty brewery pubs around the Cathedral (while this is very "touristy") you can got the the "Bierhaus en d’r Salzgass" and enjoy some Kölsch. If you really want to get around I'd even try to find the 2004 Evoke-Scavenger-Hunt again and send it to you...it will show you around some places in Cologne. Easily reachable on foot.
The Bar is not really in our control but we suggested to leave it open a bit longer this year. Then again you are always free to bring your own beaverages to the party. I think the bar was open until 2am last year and they closed it becasue they sold something like 2 beers an hour. We asked them to stay open somewhat longer this year...

PotcFdk: Don't worry too much. People do look out for eachother at parties, generally. And you definitely won't be alone; so many people to meet!
Don't forget to visit the "Beef Brothers" in Cologne, Aachener Straße 12! Kthx.
Just looked up train tickets. For some reason the trip back would cost me at least twice as much... Is there something I'm missing about trainrides on sunday?
Steam: Thanks for the info :)
I think also last year, the bar took some time untill it opened. So opened late, closed early kinda thing. But if they didn't sell much I understand them not bothering having open.
I like buying from the bar or infodesk at parties as you always get (more or less) ice cold beer.
If you buy at a store the beer gets warm and less tasty imo.
"ooohhh, look at meee, I'm tee-Eff-teee, I'm a spoiled brat from norway who need my Beer cold at all time"
At Norwegian parties it is really hard to get a permit to sell beer, so usually we have to bring our own. So when in Germany,Denmark or Holland I always buy the beer they got at the bar or infodesk.

Maybe invest in a cooler bag or something this year :)

@tft:
Nearest legal spot from Köln-Kalk to drop a piece would be Alte Feuerwache. From looking at the map it seems to be quite easy to reach by subway or S-train.
