"feels so good"
Exin: never trust a financial analyst, they sell utter bullshit for a living :D
Just took a quick look at the actual sales figures for those companies (the figures reported in their financial statements for that period). This is worldwide, which has a bit more meaning anyway:
HTC 13.2m smartphones
Apple 17.07m iPhones
Samsung 27.8m smartphones
Apple's sales went to 37m in the next 3 months (4S was launched, and it was xmas). Samsungs also went up a lot, think they were roughly similar to apple's. HTC? They've just stopped reporting their phone shipments, but they're warning that their revenues will drop over 50% from the previous year - they're not doing well at all.

exin: you are free to follow the "Source:"-links if you don't trust that particular website.. also: linking to even older articles than the ones you link to before isn't a very convincing argumentation tactic. :)
In short: you're wrong, so the sooner you accept it, the better. :)

*cough* vaio?
sorry for that , that's just really interesting what's not in there excepting the price. do you know more than other people? =)

i bought it because im still yet to find another laptop which offers the same combination of performance, build quality, solidity and low weight / form factor (and yea, i can afford it).

ton: I think it's more about you (and others) knowing _less_, not the other way around. :) Also - the Sony Vaio is quite poorly made. I know because I used to have one.

The normal consumer/"lifestyle" vaios are nothing special I guess (they used to come with some free adobe stuff, like premiere elements though), but the high end sub notebooks of the z series are certainly not "poorly made", but pretty much the best mobile computers money can buy. If you can justify spending 2k+ for a notebook that is.
If we now post pictures of broken Macs, post at least the one shot by Israeli soldiers!
System 6 is the best looking mac OS
zPlex: now find some pc's that were put through the same treatment .. oh.. you can't, because those that were, are now a small pile of black powder and shrapnel :P

Isn't that what the term "brand" means?
Hmm, historically it should be quite obvious that this term hails from the branding of cattle-property which ensured that the cattle farmers could ask a better price for their Brand, IF of course the beef was of corresponding quality.
Maybe this is why I'm opposed to such trade mark "branding" of marketing target- audiences ... I don't like to be considered cattle because nowadays the Brand is not just applied to the product but to those who purchase it as well (to wear, to use, to express a form of status).

gloom, i don't see how does this answer to my (probably too straight) question, so please don't get distracted and keep saying how macs are cool, i have no problem with that.

this really saves the day
well ... I don't think the beef in here has reached the quality of a proper branding by its own, yet ;D
Yesterday, I played live... WITH A MAC.
plaf: PCs are more recycleable then Macs which is a major plus for us that are born by parents of the flower power generation.
the faux rationality is a nice touch

What question was that? " do you know more than other people?" -- because not only is it a completely idiotic question, it was also answered (earlier in the thread even, at least twice).i don't see how does this answer to my (probably too straight) question, so please don't get distracted and keep saying how macs are cool, i have no problem with that.

Nope.PCs are more recycleable then Macs
ton: the vaio at comparable spec was _more expensive_..
I thought the argument was that Macs *ARE* PCs.. just PCs that poor chumps buy at 1.5x the price :)
Apple's core business is music and phones, there you have it: it's a lifestyle company
I'm running a pimped out MacPro with both Windows and OSX on it, sure it was expensive (I got a student discount), but i wanted something off the shelf and with good build quality. Having OSX and Windows is handy for me as a producer so I can utilize certain software under both OS's. Any peripherals that i've bought, both audio or otherwsie all have drivers for boths operating systems, so thats a non issue aswell.
I'm not a Mac fanboy though, always built my own PC's, and I have to admit walking in to a University lecture and seeing a wash of white macbooks all making that annoying as hell boot up sound is bloody grating, but students will be students :)
Anyway whatever the fuck you use, just be productive and creative with it, it doesen't really matter :)

gloom my question was to particular person who works at particular place, neither it was idiotic nor i was asking you, as for obvious reason you couldn't answer.
so please take it easy mate, you're representing mac users here, so you need to stay cool - still a lot of people to argue with.
