As google totally craps out on this, perhaps a walking guide from the train station ?

Totally agree, the hotel seems to be 'hidden' from Google. My own directions will go something like - park car at station, walk in the direction of the city centre. There is a big square or plaza area called St Georges Square where the hotel Strathmore is.

I has google-map-fu.

It looks like there's a footbridge over the station car park which will get you on a more direct route, though.

Thats indeed what google maps, streetview and $privacy_invading_info tell me but for the same matter that footbridge goes boggering off into oblivion at that carpark that seems to be there as well.

And going the diddly-doodle around the crickey block seems quite idiotic.

Not to mention that Googles interpretation of the hotel is a local Tesco's. "should" be on the same George Street/Square but still..

For those of you reading from the party, images were severely affecting our network performance, so we've made some improvements and now you should have a relatively fast net connection again!

If you're wondering what we're running:

Heavy QoS to allow compobox/partymeister top priority.
Very restrictive QoS to move things like Dropbox to lowest priority.
Transparent proxying of all HTTP port 80 connections, plus limited L7 "deep packet inspection" to discover anything else that might be cached - which means pouet.net now loads in milliseconds rather than minutes!

Just remember to use Sunrise-FAST if possible, and Sunrise-SLOW if you can't use that. DON'T use the hotel network as if that crashes (and it will if too many people use it) we can't reset it until Monday - we're being as nice to the network as possible, so you'll actually get faster speeds through our direct connection to most sites!

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming!

Next year, wait for Sunday morning host the prize-ceremony. This is just weird.

it is a bit unusual, yeah, but it does mean more time in the pool in the morning :P
