Punqtured: But the bus/train/bus ride is AWESOME! So many things to see :)
Punqtured: 15-20 euros at most, although kb is right :)
Omg so many frenchies! Ctrl-Alt-Test will be there too :)
kb_ I'm sure. And when I start off taking the wrong bus going in the completely opposite direction, there's even more nice things to see :-D
With a 15-20 Euro taxi-fare and all the bagage to cary, I think this will be my choise. Plane-tickets are reasonably fair, so I guess that settles it. I'm going to attend my first Function!

I've checked the flights, and Norwegian only have a flight on thursday. It's very cheap and the alternative with Malev (which does have a flight friday) is quite a bit more expensive. Is it possible to arrive thursday? I'll ofcourse be happy to help out :)
Punq: what are the ticket price when going with Norwegian thursday?
CPH -> BUD: 749 dkk
BUD -> CPH: 1.388 dkk
Plus around 40 Euros for taxi from airport to party and back.

ok - from billund with stopover in Amsterdam is cheaper :)
Punq: you might be able to fly somewhat cheaper from Sturup (Malmö) with Wizz air
actually a lot cheaper i you can get to the Malmö airport relatively cheap
Puryx: but will he know what to expect with Wizz Air? I could deal, but Dr Claw would never fly them again after last time (we took that carrier from Budapest to Turku). Remember, we want him to come to Function again . . . ( :
As for the airport, I saw the Function partyplace on the bus into Budapest from the airport. Didn't seem far at all. But then, doubly not far in a cab, true. ( :
Also, don't judge Budapest on what you see on the bus ride from the airport to the partyplace if you take the bus. I kept thinking I was back in Ohio (table-flat land, empty industrial buildings) . . . there's more!

That was a rather strange bus then, since while it is not far in absolute distance, the buses do not go that way (and also airport minibus and/or taxis charge an extra for the area as far as I remember)

what was the issue with wizz?
Great! That's even cheaper! Booked a flight on friday and the return on sunday (unfortunately a bit early, but it'll have to do) ;-)
Next up: Do some music - even though there's no executable music compo. It will go in the streaming compo then ;)

On flying with Wizz: I'm a very easy to please and forgiving type of guy. As long as they bring me from A to B, they may damn well seat me across the tailwing with a goat on my lap and 20 screaming infants next to me!
I'm in it for the scenepoints afterall! ;)

No fucking clue what Metoikos is trying to insinuate concerning WizzAir- The few times I flew with them, they were absolutely fine, or at least: much better than RyanAir or EasyJet, who are their main competitors, I suppose. The extra leg space option we booked for our flights to Gdansk last year was better value than any other airline I ever experienced. Maybe our Panamerican buddies expected complimentary champagne and coke to go along with their 50€ tickets? :)
I said I was fine with Wizz air. Dr Claw was the one with issues. Mainly the whole crazy rush to get seats.
Ok, I admit I was miffed they'd charge money for a glass of water, but whatever. I'm not some kind of richo lawyer who expects too much, but I don't fly a lot.
And don't be scared of Budapest based on what I said about the view from the bus! It is awesome, like I said earlier in the thread!

Hopefully, there's enough seats for everyone, and I for one couldn't care less where I sit. I travel alone, so no worries on that part. As long as I get on the flight and make it there and back on sunday, I definately take whatever trouble they may conjure with a smile and remember that they save me 14 hours of driving! :)
Leaving home now, see y'all in Budapest!
Topy is already here, TMC arriving tonight.
I read "TMZ". :)
well we already have TMA, TMB and TMC, so... we'll get there.
I won't be there until sometime tomorrow, staying in a hotel near the Austrian border (Passau) atm... If anyone's up for beers tomorrow night, I'm in the Le Rose hotel, and the first round is on me (assuming you don't bring the extended family etc ;))
is it possible to remote-submit a tiny linux entry?

Well, the second compo machine is equipped with Ubuntu 11.04 64bit OS and remote entries are allowed. So I don't see why it would be not possible, just contact one of the compo organizers :)
Contact info is here!
Arriving tomorow. Do I exchange to Euro or Forint or to some of both?
