Hey folks,
As you all know our beloved UK party Sundown takes a little break this year. I think we can all understand, that rc55 and his organising crew need to relax a little. What we can’t accept is the fact, that there won’t be a UK party we can look forward to.
Fortunately we've decided to take charge of this outrageous situation. With the help of some British friends, a ruthlessly efficient German organiser task force, a beer drinking Belgian and a Swedish radio star, we're in the middle of preparing a new party which will be so new and shiny you simply have to love it.
Sunrise will take place from 9-11 September 2011 in Luton in the conference room of the Best Western Menzies Strathmore.
To make it short, here are some facts:
Luton has its own airport which offers many flights from/to all over Europe.
The hotel is situated in the centre of Luton with lots of bars and shops in the immediate area.
Hilariously cheap rooms to sleep.
Indoor swimming pool and spa facilities to relax.
Great party place with all the usual stuff (Beamer, PA, etc.)
So you see, there’s simply no reason for you to stay away from this great party.

being a conference center, will we still be able to sit at / sleep under our 'desks' for three days straight ? or will we all get turfed out at midnight each night ?

I suppose live acts aren't really an option as I can't imagine the hotel would be toohappy with the beats pumping out till 1 am!!!

Sleeping in the conference room is tolerated but rooms will be really cheap (~40% off the normal rate) and there are nearby hotels where you can crash for 19GBP per night. We'll update the page with more information, soon.
As for live-acts. This is not a problem at all. The suite is rented for the full three days and the floors above and below us are for other conferences and the hotel staff. We probably will turn down the noise a bit towards the night but it won't be a silent party, that's for sure ;-)

But really, I'm so glad it's come together, fantastic stuff! Really good to have some of the Revision team involved as well, I'm sure it's gonna be great!
Oh, and Sundown returns in 2012, so there is that too, but frankly, you should be coming to Sunrise 2011 before worrying about anything else. :D
