category: offtopic [glöplog]
http://twitter.com/#!/LulzSec

EvE o/, Minecraft, Escapist Magazine, the US Senate, ...

Check their releases.
http://lulzsecurity.com/releases/

Why is there no thread about it as of yet ?
It's not even on diggs top page ...
Shameless ad: http://digg.com/news/world_news/the_lulz_boat_lulzsec_on_twitter
(my first entry ever lol)

Is it too early news and "nobody" knows,
or do people just give a shit ?

I mean, seriously ... this can't have passed you guys,
but there's no thread about it ... rechecked again.

errrm wrong.

They give great reason to increase the "security" of the internet.
Which, then, will kill the internet as we know it.

I've been watching with some interest too. What they've done so far has been pretty interesting, but also pretty childish + cunty. Sometimes funny too, which seems to be their aim.

Well, I'll give them one thing: you have to admire their balls-out courage. I mean how many hackers would run a phone-in, and take requests for which sites they DDOS? They're either so confident that they believe they'll never get caught, or they're going down in a blaze of glory :)

That kind of actions will probably have a bad result on the internet, legally speaking, like tighter governmental control, less freedom, etc. Which could be the start of more reliable EVIL PIRATE WAN alternatives or something like that.

Anyway they bring the fun back into hacking. My guess is that you'll never ever hear about them in some months. They seem to know what they're doing, as in to stop before it's too late.

Just wondering how many of those servers hacked by them were running BSD...
added on the 2011-06-15 06:29:14 by xernobyl xernobyl
reading the twitter reminded me of <the bad guy character> in <random budget movie>

i've never been into hacking/cracking - and i fail to understand why a simple ddos can a) be so effective and b) allow the intruders to steal material on the servers
Not the most forward-thinking plan of attack. For a bunch of people who claim to be from /b/ circa '05 but reckon /b/ now is just a bunch of furries.
Won't surprise me when they get busted & turn out be a few teen script-kiddies from Bumfuck somewhere in the US.

It's all good fun until it's YOUR atm/visa details disseminated over the interwebs.

@ least Anonymous has a social conscience - these guys are doing it to bignote & they don't give a shit whose lives the affect in the interim - I'd say the webmasters of some of the smaller places they've ddosed can't see the lulz.

I've been following it a little more closely, and sadly, the answer seems to be a very clear YES.

OH FUCK ... LULZSEC IS GONNA HACK POUET :(
Where am I gonna get my load of random pictures now?

On a serious note: Congrats, seems like most of you haven't understood the concept of anonymous yet.

I've been following them on twitter for a while and I'm sure most people are aware of them but I don't get why it would be such a big deal that pouet doesn't have a thread about the whole thing.

dodke: You've seen what other threads we have here, right? :)

Spot on. Totally agree with that thought.
Goes as well for those Anonymous "Guy Fawkes" morons, who weren't able to grasp that Fawkes was the original "Fall guy", i.e. the bum that is the Patsie carrying out the crime for people that later will sell him out.

On all ends the "powers that be" are pushing for draconian controll measures and/or a shift of the shape of data storage to corporate "cloud systems" (see Jobs' new and hip "invention").

d0DgE: Yes, let's all go back to hosting our own services on our Windows-machines at home instead of having an encrypted, centralized storage online. That's progress. ;)
