[Sundown 2010] This Friday! Open for Remote Entries! OMFGBBQDX9OGLSDL!

category: parties [glöplog]
Morning / Afternoon / Evening all!

The last Sundown (probably) is upon us, very soon. We're pretty much set to go but we'd love to get some more entries in if possible! So, if you missed the demo deadline at Evoke, or you have a chiptune or Mp3 you'd like to get judged by a willing audience, by all means get e-mailing your entries to me if you'd like to be included.

The OPEN competitions we are running this year are:
- Newschool Demo
- Newschool Intro
- Oldschool Demo
- Oldschool Music
- Synth Music
- ASCII Graphics
- Oldschool Graphics
- Newschool Graphics
- Newschool (Streaming) Music

Our web site is:
http://www.sundowndemoparty.org

As it stands we look to get around 80 people turn up (roughly guessing) and we'll be showing off your productions on our massive screen and big bumpin' soundsystem. The only thing holding back the party is not having a bouncy castle.

Also, you can check who's coming here:

As ever, thank you all for your support over the years, we want to make the last (erm, probably!) Sundown the BESTEST EVER.

I'm guessing it's an ascii/ansi compo? I can't be there in person, but I'll see if I can remotely submit something.

"We’ll accept any chiptune or MOD style format (except Renoise)." - what does MOD style include then? MOD/S3M/XM/IT? what's the file size limit?
Completely unrestricted! Go mental!

I can't make it :(

Have a great party. (oh, and I heard pete's demo won't run on a computer because he's written it for a beagleboard, hooked up to various electrodes and using himself as the output device. It's gonna be spacktastic!)

If that's not an incentive for them to try, I don't know what is.

So, how about streaming?

And what about streaking, on the streaming?

The party place only has 4.5Mbit down / 0.7Mbit up; not really much we can do with streaming, unless m0d has some ideas... :S

The last Sundown? It would be a huge pity.
So no Sundown Shaodow Party then :(

I'm sorry to hear that Sundown is ending, but I hope another UK party springs up. As I try to encourage meetups and events over here, and after running the first @party (returning in 2011, and hopefully for many years to come) I totally get the hard work involved. Wishing you well!
Don't worry too much. I might have a year off, or I might plan something else. I'm just being open-minded for the moment. I've done six years of Sundown, I love it but maybe it's time to rest, or get more ambitious. It'll take a lot of thought though.

As planning always starts well in advance (Sundown has always overlapped), I think a bit of head-space would help to figure the best new move. As ever I will help anyone else wanting to set up a party as much as I possibly can!

I should be asleep now!
