Considering some people in here feel free to belittle others & tell them to "piss off to 4chan" etc. because they feel that said poster is not adhering to being part of the demo scene (as they see it) - here a some truths.

This should be lauded, not ridiculed/closed. Considering some of the responses to my posts (but I've seen the same attitude displayed towards others) some of the shit you might cop from say b3ta or 4chan is positively friendly.
Many of the post on this BBS are not only about the demo scene. (I'd be interested in the breakdown in terms of category and volume of posts.) To wit -

OK, allow me to spell this out in more detail than it really deserves:
You are not getting as much respect on here as you think you deserve.
What you would realise, if you actually gave a fuck about the community that hangs around here, is that nobody on here ever gets respect just from posting random images. Well, not unless they're absolutely shit hot at finding random images that the rest of the community find entertaining. Which you're not, as evidenced by all the people telling you to fuck off.
What you're doing is the equivalent of wandering into a football team's changing room, trying to join in their banter, and when they tell you to GTFO, protesting "But nobody else is playing football in here! I should be allowed to be here not playing football as well."
Or to put it another way, piss off to 4chan.

Interesting that all the respondents I expected proved my point beyond a doubt. Jesus, being true to form or what?! It would appear that not many of you read past the first sentence *apart* from gasman - thanks for that gas. Interesting analogy, I personally don't hang around mens locker rooms unless it's before or after the game I'm involved in - not sure about you tho. I will point out that I'm not seeking respect here (as I don't do demos - which I have pointed out to others before)
but getting "respect" for posting pics is a bit too puerile, even for me!

everything on this page has to do with demoscene, even if sometimes not directly visible !
even for the RIT this applied until some point of time, as pictures that got posted have been random but at the same time inspiring for new demo-stuff !
it just derailed at some point.
other threads not directly scene.related just spawn because lots of ppl in the scene share the same interests.
and others just spawn because non-sceners found the RIT or another thread they liked and thought they could open their own thread with whatever as a subject.
i am considered a troll here myself for my drunken posts, but i atleast am a scener and release prods all the time and dont open senseless threads ;) ( ok, i did so in the past and i am ashamed :/ )
but after having said so:

we have to bump threads like this one to make ppl like you understand that you block our beloved bbs with your shit. ( bcoz we just bumped it ontop once again :/ )
always this residue is at the top of the list and really relevant threads ( to our scene that is ) have to be found by clicking MORE or even SEARCH.
my BBS-topics-customization is at 50, while 20 is max ( just for the stupid occasion of someone opening more slots at some point of time, which makes no sense as 20 is really enuff...NORMALLY ! )

Maybe pouet needs to find a way to vet its new members so that poeut can verify that they are ONLY members of the elite cadre of "sceners"? Otherwise, best to be blaming it on the nefarious interwebs.
