SWAGs were critical for any pascal programmer. When I moved from pascal to C, I was sad there wasn't anything similar..

Hi, I'm Bas van Gaalen and indeed the creator of the 2 gfxfx packages and owner of the website http://webtweakers.com/ :)
Thanks for all the good words. I never quite realized that the stuff I made back then would inspire so many people.

yea, the asphyxia tutorials are way earlier than 1999. but you probably got that allready.. :S
since they where posted on gamedev in 1999 doesnt mean they where written then. i got these tutorials on discs back in the early and middle 90's.
explorer: a 16 years delayed thank you for all your ega/vga tutorials!!
I believe many demoscene productions were inspired by your work (including my own productions, at least back then).

Big thanks from me as well. Along with fatmap(1/2) perhaps the best tutorials I've ever needed.
Extending my "thank you" too here... your tutorials were SO great back then... I wished there were so good tutorials for modern demo effects, these days :-)
Greetings Bas van Gaalen. SWAGS was a lifesaver. Thank you.
jcl: there are, they're called shaderx books :)
plek: i don't think you can go and code some demo from scratch by using shaderx books as reference only... with those tutorials you actually could (i did)... of course, 1991's quality but still... :)
PS: of course I get your point :)

explorer: I took great pleasure in optimizing some of your code to lower platforms and graphics modes -- thank you again!
