i like it how we have 1,5 pages of music, gfx, parties and other categorized threads, and 295 pages worth of "general"... this categorization thing really seems to serve a purpose! :p

Gargaj: Maybe I would make a demo about it, but unfortunately I have no time for that, and my skill's a little bit rusty (well, more than a little bit) due to too much enterprise java application programming (money, need money)

Gargaj: IMO, the intersection is big/small enough for a peaceful coexistence of the prod database and the random image thread.

Of course the increasing shithead-ness of posters in the RIT is also increasing the strain on the admins (which is you), but the thread per se isn't the problem. People aren't replacing creating productions by posting images; most people posting are more on the consumer side of things anyway, and the occasional random image coming from an active scener won't hurt his/her productivity too much. If there's any correlation between more posts in the RIT and less released productions, it's merely a symptom of people getting older and lazier, not the cause.

And I must say I liked my daily dose of randomness as well as having a place to post weird things I've found in the internet. Things went a bit downhill when Ringo started drowning that randomness in a flood of mediocre-looking women, yes, but still.

(Or just limit the max post count in threads to the number of prods in the database. That should make stuff interesting in a few years :)

PS: And yep, the people opening 100 useless threads because they think it's funny can pretty much fuck off.

PPS: Then again, also in response to Havoc above, maybe Pouet 2.0 should use a more (here it comes) 4chan-like system for the BBS. Not the images, but the way thinner separation between threads. Make them more lightweight, add a few AJAX sprinkles (expanding/collapsing without having to change the page), that should make things way more convenient.

How is sb still able to post in RIT? How is that possible? Haven't the thread been shut down?

kb: agreed on most counts, and while the thread might not be the problem, it got so bloated and dragged on that it eventually crossed over into the exact same meme territory most of the intelligent internet is very much weary of.
