I'm sure there's a "nicer" solution than "only operators can do that".
For example, you could limit adding a video link to users with a certain "reputation". Or, if an user is abusing some funcionality, the community could report that user.

Gloperators are probably 0,01% of users on this website. I was talking about the possibility to extend the "add a video-link" feature to a significative percentage of the users.

But if people just scream "this makes Pouet too similar to Myspace", "old is better" and "trolls would destroy the site", come on, stick with that forever... I was just trying to make adding a video less painful.

I actually agree with the suggestion of allowing normal users to add demoscene tv and capped links themself.

It's pretty safe, and kind of hard to exploit :)

I like the fact that people think it's easy to add shit to Pouet.

I'd say if the gloperators are fine with doing it... where is the problem ? Use the "fix me beautiful" thread and it just works. I heard they have some javascript tools to help handling the data in that thread anyway :)

If by "reputation" you mean "make/made demos, went/still goes to parties, in this mess for 10+ years, somewhat cares about what's going on here/helping", then I agree. But it's not about reputation anyway. Glöperators are just a band of veteran sceners/pouet users, who like to help out/fix stuff and keep things aligned and usable.
