The Demoscene is realtime ART created by talented individuals made up of computer programmers, artists and musicians who work in groups, sometimes co-operatively, to make productions that they use to show off their abilities and the capabilities of the computer hardware they develop them on. They then show off these productions at demoparties to compete with one another for prizes and kudos, and they acknowledge each other in these productions in a spirit of competition, self-improvement and camaraderie.
