My first demo party ever, but seems like most of the scene people were somewhere else... mostly just gamers and other randoms. Better luck next time? Loved the compos though :)

Lunadre, my advice is to get some contacts before-hand and visit boozembly.

i was about to say - never been to asm but it's widely known that most sceners can be found outside :)

lunadre: Next time you need to locate boozembly. That's where the sceners usually are.

This Lunadre person is quite mysterious. I can't find any information about her in either Google or my IRC logs, and besides, the comments about the Assembly 4ks seem to be far too well-thought and constructive for a random newcomer!

A last minute question: Why the most famous sceners are not taking part at assembly ???

better go to (other) demoparties if you wanna see some sceners at the actual party place.

COMPO CONFUSION!

Learn how to separate things properly.
Why is the flash 64kb in the 64kb compo? Using that same rules the flash demos would be on the demo compo. Same goes for the textmode 64kb... it should be on the real wild also, IMHO...

Nah, the only really confusing/unfair compo was EXTREEEEEEME GRAPHICS.

Yeah i was thinking the same, maybe some other teams without nice tools like that in their workflow could see what they can get out of them...and he provides the source code with the tools so they could add any features they want to them. There are of course other tools like this out there but they are commercial offerings last i saw aimed at MMO games development, and again allow artists to change stuff and see it in real time within the game.

why should textmode 64kb be in a different category? what is the justification? flash I can see but...
