Not far-right. Libertarian. (And it's not c&p, it's a summary in my own words.)

Under Johnson's administration, New Mexico experienced the longest period without a tax increase in the state's history, the rate of growth in the state government was cut in half, half of the state's prisons were privatized, state Medicaid was shifted to managed care, and the state was left with approximately 1,000 fewer employees (with no firings) and a budget surplus. Johnson vetoed 750 bills (which was more than all the vetoes of the other 49 Governors in the country at that time, combined), which earned him the nickname Gary "Veto" Johnson.

that sounds like: hey, let's privatize everything and tell the people that that saved a lot of money...

well, he's wearing a nice jacket. And the sandals look like shit with his whole outfit. Obama should have put a cap in his ass for showing up like that. Jeezus!

I dont thrust people wearing sandals to "formal wear"
Or those dirty people going barefoot in the streets....god damn hippies!!!!
(Its ok at the park, at the beach...etc, but when you leave to go somewhere else, PUT ON SOME SHOES (or atleast some sandals if you must)

Lets talk more about feet.....one of the more disgusting parts of the human body.

http://orf.at/stories/2054457/ - Gary E. Johnson is going to run for Presidential Elections in the USA. This news satisfies me greatly, as I myself suggested him as future US President. Excellent!

I hope this guy tries running for the US presidency again in 2012:

thom: As far as I know, the Libertarian Party is non-interventionist. Johnson is not a member of the Libertarian Party, but the policies he has implemented so far (as a governor) have been similar to the views to the Libertarian Party. He is a Libertarian member of the Republican Party, so to speak.

However, I believe that the USA is the leading power of the democratic world and it is good if the USA protects us from all the dangers that threaten us.

I'd vote for that for a dollar.

Adok: In case you hadn't noticed, USA is a corporate oligarchy. The president is inconsequential and has been for about three decades.
I believe that if the President of the USA did a good fiscal policy (like Gary E. Johnson probably would do), the whole world would benefit from it. Currently the USA is spending a lot of money, the deficit in the budget is permanently increasing, the dollar is losing value, and the inundation with cheap dollars leads to inflation everywhere. That is not a good situation, and therefore, we need real "change".

what a stupid thread.

a guy from vienna that no one cares about starting a thread about usa politics on a subculture site with an audience where the majority is from europe.

The USA concerns all of us since the USA is the leading world power. European politicians like Sarkozy are of minor importance - without American aid, Sarkozy would not even be able to wage his war in Libya, for example.

panic: Why? Explain why you disagree with me. Only if I know your arguments, will I be able to learn. Honestly I do not have any idea about what makes you upset.

adok: could it be that your subjects are just plain boring and kinda irellevant to the demoscene? i do agree that usa and its presidents are important to the real world - but this is pouet.
Adok, to become president of the United States requires millions of dollars in campaign funds. For example, the 2008 Obama campaign was estimated to be be around $750 million dollars. (Although it hasn't yet been audited: http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_theticket/20110418/ts_yblog_theticket/fec-launches-an-audit-of-president-obamas-2008-campaign.) Only large corporations have that sort of money, and you can be damn sure they're extremely careful about where their campaign donations go.

Interestingly, the 2008 Obama campaign won two International Advertising Awards: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/jun/29/barack-obama-cannes-lions. That alone says something about the US electoral system.

The 2008 Democrat Presidential debate had more people than just Hilary Clinton and Barak Obama, but do you really think military contractors and similar state-reliant corporations would give campaign funds to a guy like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYWWBwf2wHE

The US economy relies upon deficit spending, or rather, corporations that donate to campaigns, such as Bechtel, Westinghouse, ExxonMobil, United Technologies, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, etc., rely upon deficit spending. One person will not fix anything. The US has systemic problems that require direct action from the entire population if anything is ever to be fixed.

Lastly, I find it ironic that you, Adok, are nattering on about “fiscal policy.” You still live at home and have never supported yourself financially. You sponge off your parents and the state, yet still seem to think that you understand good economics. But then again, that doesn't make you too different from many large US corporations...

But the govmint bank is still pumping money into their own economy & others without properly addressing the spending issues of infrastructure, health or education. Robbing Peter to pay Paul usually just ends up with Peter want to beat the shit out of you and Paul!
