eeeeeeh... "filled vectors" have nothing to do with cel shading. Possibly flat shading.
I've always hated the term anyway, because it's really absurd.. filling a vector doesn't mean anything.. (vector graphics is understandable, but saying "vector" when you mean "polygonal object" is just stupid).
...but there are of course loads of nice examples of this effect - far too many for me to pick any favourites :)

wireframe > filled vectors > depth shaded filled vectors > tmapped vectors > depthshaded tmapped vectors etc etc insert phong gouraud env blah where ever.

Revenge of Babbnaasen by Red Sector Inc, more commonly known as Cebit'90 which blew everything else away at the time. Contains arguably Romeo Knights best tune and for me RSI's most memorable work.
For wireframe i personally LOVE Vectrex by Scoopex. Only an intro, but i just love the music and will teach you a bit of Scene history as well if you read the scroller :)

how do you fill something infinitely thin that has no position?
i've never seen any infinitely thin thingys on my monitor...
filled vectors are filled vectors, no matter how abstract it seems to some people - after all, calling some gfx effects made up from 2d polygons on the screen "3d vectors" is even more absurd imho :)
on the original question: since i've grown up on pc, the diamond and space-whatever-things in Eclipse by EMF is what makes my heart beating a little bit faster...

If we are going to be really correct,vectors are not infinitely thin. Vectors are not lines. They have no width (not even an infinitely small one). Don't confuse vectors with their geometric interpretation in 2- or 3-dimensional euclidian space.

I like filled vector becuz it's an oldskool effect that still keeps getting better on the c64.
I guess the term vector gfx originated with the old vector screens. This was screens where you could control the direction (=vector) of the cathode ray. Instead of moving from the top left corner and downwards in horizontal lines like on tv or a normal screen, you could make it move in any direction and turn it on/off as you wanted, and thereby draw lines on the screen w/o using cpu power on drawing them into a bitmap first.
Vector screens were mostly used for industrial design and stuff like that I think, but also arcade games like Asteroids and Battle Zone used this kinda screen.
Because of these vector screens that could draw lines, I guess line gfx got known as vector gfx. And when someone figured out how to fill these line objects they dubbed it "filled vector gfx" or just filled vector for short.
Recently some ppl has started calling it "filled vectorS" but I guess that's just a mistake. Maybe some dude had a lisp when he talked about filled vector and then it started that way. :)

The best flat polygon 3ds on the C64 are in the demo
Altered States 50% by Taboo imho. Big enough size but still running in a descent speed, morphing, with nice colors, glenz. Has anyone seen faster on the C64 in this size? I'd like to see..
The first flat 3ds I have watched on a PC demo were in Cronologia by Cascade. Be carefull: The first I have personally seen, not the first that have been released. Which were the first on PC btw? Vector demo by Ultraforce? Something else..
I don't know about Amiga. I was not in Amiga demowatching from early times, I just watched some classics of the year 92-93 not so early (and still miss the very classics from the previous years). I like also Atarist vectors very much, because they can do preety smooth flat polys way too big and without having any blitter chip!!!
On the CPC, the only flat polygons ever were in Face Hugger's Ultimate Megademo released at 1992 and I have never ever seen flat polys on the CPC anymore (That's a shame!). Perhaps only in a preview of a precalculated animation in Overflow's previews (Very cool and smooth).

I think the first vector demo i saw on the PC was precisaely Vectordemo / Ultraforce. At least, the first one I saw that contained nifty effects with them. Included vector balls too and some interactivity :-)
Optimus: It's not a demo, but I still think the Freescape engine by Incentive Software is one the best pioneering vector work on the PC. It was used in several games (Driller, Castle Master, Darkside) and it offered a flatshaded 3d world with free player movement on an XT.

The filled vectors in Kefrens Megademo8 were quite impressive. Fullscreen blitter filled vectors running full framerate in 3 bitplanes (well, I think it was 3).
Tai Pan/Complex also did an excellent highspeed vector demo, but I don't remember the name of the demo...

Yep, Promax' vector demo in Kefrens Megademo called "Kill Victor" was teh rulex.
And Tai-Pan's one was called "Vector Preview". Still the best 3D objects in a demo ever, counting today's PC stuff.
Remember also "3D Intro" from Phalanx, which shows the previous unfilled generation of Tai-Pan's routine :)
