Yep, that is still needed.
Although, I saw a USB version pop by the other day. Can't find the link anymore but I guess somebody else over here can provide it.

Gargaj: count another 5€ (or 0€ if you find it in the trash) for a 386 laptop, combine it with an X1541 cable + direct cable connection between the laptop and your work PC, and you could have a quite cheap&compact d64 transfer system. At least that's how I solved it :)

Hyde: I have actually paid more for my c64 stuff than I have paid for my pc gear. So watch out.

Think I better get me some of that file transfer equipment to watch EoD on the real thing. But I'm pretty sure it's too advanced to work with a standard X1541 cable or something like that. You probably at least need one of these suckers to do the job:

Fzool: you cannot fit the MP3@64 on there as it is.. you'd need to remove something first...

How is this calculated? EoD has the most thumb-up's now. Is it a combination of thumbs and popularity?

I think so. But wait a little and I believe it will soon reach popularity 10% with all that fuzz around it :)

Knoeki: or add another mmc64 :). i'd love to see 4 mmc64's connected in a square

I don't get how that stuff is calculated. candytron is number 5 on the list Calexico links to but on the front page it's at the 10th spot, occasionally trading places with Starstruck.
