virgill/jester over "vite and plack"

category: general [glöplog]
Hi all. I was reading a long-ago interview with Virgill that referred a very large falling out between him and Jester over the soundtrack to "Interference". Can anyone tell me what exactly happened?

Vigill rules, Jester sucks

No, I was just kidding. As long as I know, they always had quarrels about their surnames. Jochen kept calling Volker "Tripper", while Volker kept calling Jochen "Feldköter".

Virgill does music whereas Jester put some sounds side by side.

Well, people you are too much hard, Jester did some of the greatest "Amiga demo anthems", like the great music from Sanity's "World of Commodore" :)

YES, I know it's doskpopish-styled, and so much amigademosong oriented, but I think Jester's song was good too :)

Btw, I'm an ENORMOUS^BIG^FAN of "Interference" song :D

jester was good! virgill was and still is one of the very top composers the scene has ever seen (nice word play).. bar none. it´s not even arguable :)

I'm afraid nothing can beat Firefox & Tip music from Enigma demo by Phenomena :')

Enigma (or hyperbased), Stardust Memories (i'd like to pick f.ex Cyberride though as those two tunes are quite similar) and Vite and Plack are all great but Virgill is the only one of those that still keeps doing great (scene) stuff...

(*still waiting for the Enigma remix by FF that was promised to come out ;)*)

back then, I think it was just rivalry between two musical masterminds.

Please get Herr Tripper back to the scene! Anyone has his number?
I bet he´s still doing music...
One funny anecdote is that we both had the same telephone number back in the days. 14692. Just an other pre-number for the city we lived in. Ibbenbueren VS Bocholt. Coincidence or fate ?

skrebbel, the #thescene jester was someone else. (go backwards 15-18 years in demoscene history and you know what they´re talking about) /me wonders what all the fuzz is all about here ?

There's no denying, Jester was an incredible musician! His Elysium mod was particularly outstanding. Even if you didn't like his style, you had to admire his soundtracker skills. I never cared much for his Oddjob stuff, however.

Of course, Virgill is better, but that's because he is also incredible. :)

jester ftw :) Elysium and Flowerpower are just 2 great modules of him.
