Well, it's only there to support the expenses of the server, it's actually 250$ bellow $0 since the beginning...
It's not that big but I'd like pouët.net to live by itself, at least for the hardware/bandwidth.
I had to choose between behing hosted by ojuice-scene.org-planet-d or letting it support itself.
I prefer to put a banner which will lower the expenses, and let me do what I can to make sure that pouët.net stays independant, up most of the time and fast enough.
I hope the banner will cover the expenses, and if there are some benefits, I'll be able to start hosting more files here ^^;

I would send money. Honestly. I use this site all the time. But in exchange, my site suggestions would have to move up on the priority list. ;)
Make a poll about the banner before put it, how ojuice made a year ago. pouet.net with banner suxx! some $$$ is for me, for my logo ;)
it's really not a big deal.. i didn't even notice this damn advert, hadn't I seen the comments here and there... You may not realize, but the biggest problem with the net today is being able to offer a long term service.. ask us at scene.org or phoenix for hornet. Conditions are always changing. Sure it's fine, you may be able to host your site cheaply for a while (at your company, whatever) but this doesn't last forever. In the life of a site it will pass through different situations, some easier some more difficult. So please, don't complain when all what the webmaster is trying to do is obviously to make a compromise and provide the best service he can do.
One banner at the bottom of the screen is not a disaster...

can you put a 'target = new' on your link on the €-banner please, because i click on it (to make pouet more rich) but the link erase pouet, arg!

why not fund the expenses by selling the so awaited pouet.net goodies ? a little small expense of two euros for each t-shirt/mug/whateveryouwant.glop, something like that won't mind me.
of course lot of ppl prefer to have an advert on the site, i don't and prefer that pouet.net becomes commercial so that we could remove that advert banner.

as long as the banner stays at the bottom, it doesn't bother me at all. i understand that there are certain expenses in keeping a website up.
