the inque one seemed a bit rushed

we did our best to mask that.

both seem much better than ours.

Uncle-x - having just seen the video of yours and the other two, I have to disagree massively!

Hehe, nice entry's so far!

Our demo is indeed rushed, we did not have made any demo's before this one, so we had just 2 months to create a engine, and create the demo itself.

In the end we had to rush and hack everything just too make the deadline, including leaving some eyecandy out. *snif*

inque one is so-so indeed. mfx one looks simply superb! has some dead parts but all the effects+ambient is amazing (specially all the flv glitches :D).

i really want to see the binaries of mfx's demo, because from the video i cant tell if it's stunningly cool or not. :)

psonice well i've only seen the cocoon and flt demos once, but i've seen ours about 400 times.. might affect judgement a bit :-)

yes, the mfx is quite stunning... top notch quality. Same for the fairlight and cocoon. The inque had too wide FOV for my tastes :-)...

unclex : yours is my favorite so far. It's not just another 3ds player :D

Smash: I agree - I want to see the binary of the MFX one as well. The video looks amazing though.. fucked up, and lovely :)

I really liked the FLT+TBL one as well.

uncle-x:
maybe you can't distribute the binnaries, but you can distribute the original video ;)
I believe the flv recompresion destroyed the original video a bit (or maybe not).

okkie: Screw it, I have enough overtime clocked already :)

ok apparently the video of our demo is a bit buggy in places.. too bad it actually looks better with those bugs :-/
added on the 2008-07-02 16:13:26 by uncle-x uncle-x
okkie, this is much more important right now ;)
added on the 2008-07-02 16:13:38 by izard izard
it might be they accidentally encoded the buggy version we sent earlier.. gonna check with xxx...
added on the 2008-07-02 16:14:16 by uncle-x uncle-x
The files seem to have all been uploaded, but there's no sign of still. I hope they made the deadline :)

trace we'll upload a high quality video of the demo to scene.org when the site's live.. at least the current video looses like 85% of all the fine detail, plus has those nasty encoding bugs (which, at this point, i wish were effects)
added on the 2008-07-02 16:19:32 by uncle-x uncle-x
elsewhere : did you really like it ?

i must say cool compo overall, but i'm asking me too where our video is.

perhaps they ran out of diskspace :)
added on the 2008-07-02 16:25:28 by pantaloon pantaloon
they're wondering why the site is already creating so much traffic. ;)
