xiaomega: if your talking about the thirteen stars above the eagles head, it is once again the thirteen colonies. It is not a David's star. There are also thiteen stripes in the US flagand originally there were thirteen stars in the flag aligned as an circle. The star of David is hollow - to form the star of David you need to take out the star in the middle. That makes 12 stars.
