This whole thread helps me to remember of a close friend of mine who was a very talented hiphop DJ and who sold all his gear (including Technics MK2 limited edition turntables, high-end mixing board, computer ....) and vynils (lots of them. Rare things bought in many stores, even in the US and so...) for a gal.
He just gave up everything in less than 1 week. Unbelievable.
I met him 6 months later and he had even started to listen to pop-rock music and his language wasn't rude anymore. o_O
Well, all I still own from this period is some remixes we did together with him scratching with his turntables. :(

@Oxb : In fact, it's not the girls... It's the godamn males ! :) We have a built-in vulnerability in our brain, something like a "cuteness overflow" exploit. And it can easily crash the kernel. Girls don't even know about this, they're just naturally gifted to use it.

I'm always choerent...for example, i love Trance and Techno Music from 11-12 years till now...i don't tink that i'll listening to Robbie Williams or Nickelback tomorrow :)

Lol. Thanks you people really care about me. I was just searching the Interweb for danny and stefanie and found this old thread I started years ago. Great memories come back up about my life before I had a girlfriend. Yes I'm still together with the one I gave up my demo scene life for. I remember when I took a photo of a picture she made for me (a heart with a bunny silhouette) and you painted all these kind things into the heart.
What has changed? A lot. Not everything. I'm still working with computers ten hours a day as a senior it-security engineer. If someone needs some help with firewalls and VPN just drop me a mail. Got a Mac Mini at home which my girlfriend uses, too. Too much things to do at work and at home. I catch myself very often when I wish I had more time just to stay where I am and watch things moving on.
I don't regret the change my girlfriend brought into my life. I'll marry her in October this year. Planning on some kidsters. Two at least. Planning on buying a house. I found that other sceners I spent a good time with are not updating their websites anymore. People like Milan 'Acumen' Kolarovic (www.milankolarovic.com) or Marco 'xeNusion' Siegel (www.xenusion.com). Great ones, won't forget them every after all the years.
